Need advice on electrics/light bulbs.

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

Just a wee problem,so a bit of help would be nice.

I replaced a dozen light bulbs in the girlfriends kitchen. The one's inset into the ceiling. However,a few days later 10 of them stopped working. She said the kettle blew up (I know,i laughed too) then the lights went out. I had a look at them a few days after and the bulbs do come on when I tap them.

So is this easily fixed?

Is it the wiring?

Or doe she have a poltergeist?

Thanks in advance..

I'd have an electrician check how that lot's wired, because that shouldn't really happen

Have you got the right bulbs for the fittings btw?

Yes, kettle element failing should be independent of the lights. Get an electrician.

Yes the bulbs are the right one's.

She bought the house last year and the guy who owned it was an amateur diy-er by the look of a lot of his work.

Thanks anyway..Will get a sparkie to take a look.

No..

I got advice from B n Q guy.

Forgot to mention 16 ceiling lights in her living room don't work too. So I reckon it's got to be dodgy wiring. I hope it's not a fire hazard??
