Colin Foster   72 #13 Posted March 20 The incumbent has been let go for getting his own beer in. Can't say I'll be sorry to see the back of them, she made it feel like drinking in a crèche.
 Share this content via...
Irene Swaine   1,072 #14 Posted March 20 Being a south westerner, I have many fond memories from my fundamental years of this pub. I used to spend warm summer days playing in the beer garden there. I used to love the stained glass ceiling lights and loved the big brown slide. There is a nice walk from the bottom of the beer garden, overlooking the southern Rivelin Valley too. oscar2157   12 #15 Posted April 6 As a child,. my family along with others.. up to the 1960s had one of the small weekend huts down at 'Foxholes Lodge' near the dams,. as we often left the 'Three Merry Lads' ,. we would carry on down from the bottom of the beer garden and disappear into inky the blackness to the huts,.. I often wondered if folks would be thinking  ''Where the heck ! are they going !''
 Share this content via...
