Research has shown that younger children are more suited to a homebased setting. There are some fantastic Childminders out there who provide love, nurturing and care for the whole family. For every report that says that, there's an equivalent that says the opposite. There are too many variables - parent's attitudes and opinions, the nature of the staff/minder, the personality of the child - for it to be a measurable point.
