  1. I'm based at north west Sheffield and trying to find somewhere for my Reception aged child (aged 5 in April) to go to at half term for a few days while I am at work. I no longer use a regular nursery as I can collect from school each day so that's not really an option. I have tried SIV but their camps start at age 6. Any recommendations please?
  2. My 2 children now aged 7 and 4 have both been to Just for kidz since the age of 1 and i have always been impressed with the level of care and the friendliness of the staff. They were also very flexible and accommodating in terms of sessions and days as sometimes i would work different days each week.
  3. bluecanary is right, it's a big area to run around in. about a mile or 2 up the road in Worrall is another decent park with a good area for scooting etc too
  4. ok will look out for you! my daughter loves pink so may point you out to me! ---------- Post added 29-03-2014 at 21:05 ---------- i think i may have spotted you in the pink coat but was stuck waiting in line for the smoothie bike thing to come over and check! sounds like there is going to be lots happening in Worrall in the coming months!
  5. yes me too! will be exciting having the tour de france come through in june as well and all the festivities associated with that. think there is an event at the memorial hall on sat to do with that and the yorks cultural festival.
  6. Yes we moved at the end of Jan and the kids started at local school/nursery after half term. We're getting settled in and exploring the area. I've just joined a local running club so I can meet people too and have even discovered that an old Uni friend lives just up the road from us!
  7. Hi Mandshef, how are you settling into Worrall? Have you been able to find any suitable local activities for the kids? My daughter has started brownies at wharncliffe side but not sure if anyone else from worrall goes. She has made a few random friends at the ark when we have gone up there tho!
  8. Just for kidz on the main road in mosborough have always been great for my 2 - they are very flexible with sessions and the staff are lovely. Reasonable rates too.
  9. unfortunately, that's not too feasible an option for me as we are moving from Mosborough which is 30 mins drive at best of times :-/
  10. Thanks for the link. Which school did you manage to get your children into MandShef?
  11. We've not moved yet but yes we did apply for Oughtibridge as it's by far the nearest at 0.5 miles away but it is full for Y2 as is Wharncliffe side, Loxley and Marlcliffe so at the moment my daughter has been allocated a place at Wisewood.
  12. Thanks for the update on the dance group, I might look into it when we move. Do you know how much it costs? It always seems easier to meet people when the weather is nicer as people seem to be stuck at home at the moment rather than popping to the park after school or on a weekend.
  13. I am in a similar situation to you in that we are in the process of moving to Worrall with our 6 year old daughter and 3 year old son, and our daughter has not been able to get into the nearest school, so am keeping a keen eye on this thread to see the suggestions made! I have been able to get my daughter's name down for brownies at Wharncliffe side. If you are after swimming lessons I believe there are a few places around who offer this such as hillsborough leisure centre, chapeltown etc - these may offer other activities too for your boys.
  14. Does anyone know of an entertainer who would come to a party held at home and entertain a group of 4 year olds for half an hour to an hour? In 2 minds as to whether they would be fine just playing with toys and having some party games thrown in or whether they would need a bit more.
  15. I have been using just for kids nursery on the main road close to the cross roads in Mosborough for over 5 years for my 2 children and can highly recommend them. They have friendly staff, it's not too big, lovely garden out the back and are very flexible with sessions which suits me as the days I work can vary from week to week. Also offer breakfast and after school clubs as well as school holiday sessions. Reasonably priced too.
