ChrisT70   10 #5 Posted July 11, 2012 Helloo! I have a friend who is looking at buying and would like to know what Handsworth is like?  Anyone live there?  Any areas of Sheffield I should tell her to avoid?  Thanks!  in response to your post, whats your budget? some very nice houses in handsworth and some very nice areas, from £130k and up, great for the m1/commuting. good for town, a couple of decent pubs, a few ok local shops. there has been a recent surge in burglary unfortunately, sign of the recession i think and the slack nature of our local cid/burglary teams in relation to catching burglars, but other than that its a great area with little or no trouble, and people who seem to look after their houses/properties with some pride on the private areas at least. we have no thoughts/comment however on schools, someone else will have to comment if they have kids in the local ones if thats what you need.
