Handsworth and surrounding areas

Recommended Posts

Helloo!

I have a friend who is looking at buying and would like to know what Handsworth is like?

Anyone live there?

Any areas of Sheffield I should tell her to avoid?

Thanks!

in response to your post, whats your budget? some very nice houses in handsworth and some very nice areas, from £130k and up, great for the m1/commuting. good for town, a couple of decent pubs, a few ok local shops.

there has been a recent surge in burglary unfortunately, sign of the recession i think and the slack nature of our local cid/burglary teams in relation to catching burglars, but other than that its a great area with little or no trouble, and people who seem to look after their houses/properties with some pride on the private areas at least. we have no thoughts/comment however on schools, someone else will have to comment if they have kids in the local ones if thats what you need.

Thank ChrisT70 - I'll pass that on

I'e lived in Sheffield all my life but there are a lot of areas I don't know - there's nothing better than local knowledge!

I agree burglary just happens everywhere, "good or "bad" areas

There's no kids - so no schools knowledge needed but I defo pass the rest of the info on!
