Wincobank Hill - Please help!

Recommended Posts

Isn't the proposed site for the housing separated from the hill fort by a couple of rows of houses?
It's about 200m away. The existing housing around there should never have been allowed anyway. Would people feel so complacent if we suggested building housing a couple of hundred metres away from Carl Wark? And this is exactly the same thing.

What sort of philistine is the planning officer who thinks that he should be allowed to overturn the official designation of that area?

The tally is creeping up, nearly 700 now. Keep up the good work, and if you have time to email an objection or comment in, it can't do any harm.

Anyway I wouldn't live in a house up there, its haunted by a hundred dead centurians...:suspect:

No Jack, many more than that. The hill is a devil to get up in the snow too. The houses just wouldn't sell ;)

Up to 682 signatures (and many more at the event on Wincobank Common yesterday) so one last push people please. :help:

695 now, I've been mailing and fbing half the day letting friends and colleagues know about this.

I noticed there was a mail from English Heritage but could only read the covering letter, the attachment which contained the actual comment hadn't been scanned over. Do you know what EH said about this app?

ETA: found the attacment now. EH worse than useless, as usual. Offered no opinion only that the application should be decided in line with national and local planning guidelines and with specialist guidance. So, SCC, that'll be a big fat NO! then? Or should be.
