Kerrangaroo
This guy might be able to help though I suspect that the squirrels will eventually figure a way, clever little buggers.

I stuck a bird table atop a long steel pole with a large upturned steel wok beneath the bird table. It works a dream but you need a pole at least 1.4 metres high. A clothes post is ideal. Chumley
I built one. I stuck a bird table atop a long steel pole with a large upturned steel wok beneath the bird table. It works a dream but you need a pole at least 1.4 metres high. A clothes post is ideal. You can also buy feeder poles with a plastic squirrel baffle (similar to an upturned wok). You can then put various hanging or tray feeders on the top. It works fine as long as you don't leave anything close enough for the squirrels to use as a launching pad. Once they're on top of the baffle they're in!
Chumley
PS this avoids having a cage which restricts your view of the birds. Edited June 17, 2012 by Chumley Yet another spolling mistoke

A steel wok is what's needed as it won't rough up and become passable to squirrels after a couple of weeks.

We've had a plastic baffle for 10 years and no squirrel has got its claws through it or even scratched it yet.
