0114owl1867
my notebook keeps switching off saying 'battery critical' even though i have the charger connected permanently and it is lit up indicating that it is working ok, it is on windows xp and it is a del notebook anyone any ideas ? it takes up to ten attempts to get it to work, and it's starting to do my head in as my daughter needs it for her schoolwork - thanks in advance for any advice

sidbobs
Take the battery out and just leave the charger connected, does it power on? Does the Port that the charger plugs into feel loose or wobbly? Edited December 12, 2011 by sidbobs

Kidorry
I think it is better for a laptop battery if you let it run down a little now and again.Try the laptop without the external power for a while and then try it with the power on.Just my idea.
