Knocking a supporting wall down

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm considering knocking a structural wall down between the kitchen and dining room. Will i need a strucural engineer to assess this or would a builder do?

I assume a steel girder will be needed.?

You need a structural engineer who will advise on which would be the best method and who will also give you steel/rsj calculation

Thank you. Do you know the name of a reputable structural engineer?

Just knock it down with a big hammer. It'll be fine.

You will need building regulations and structural calculations for removing a supporting wall. I can provide a full-submission service for building regulations and I can provide the structural calculations. Please email me at [email protected] if you are interested.

Lee
