My dog has come out in small bite like lumps?

Recommended Posts

ive had a look on the internet...are piriton and is it piraeeze the same thing? the box looks the same...also, mine is approx 10 to 12 kg.... would i give her 4mg? and how often per day? and how long for? thanks

Piriteze is the same thing as piriton, as in is from the same company (as well as pirinase), it just doesn't cover as many problems as piriton.

Piriteze covers:

• hayfever

• skin allergies

• pet allergies

• mould spore allergies

• house dust mite allergies

Whereas Piriton covers:

• Hayfever

• Pet allergies

• House dust mite allergies

• Mould spore allergies

• Nettle rash and hives

• Skin allergies and dermatitis

• Prickly heat and heat rash

• Allergic reactions to food, food additives or medicines

• Insect bites and stings

• The itchy rash of chickenpox

You can tell I have allergies :hihi:

Piriton works on insect bites, so if you've given him some it should stop any itchiness :)

I wouldn't worry about it to be honest - has he been bothered? Any itching? Just monitor the area, if it should get worse (gets painful, he becomes lathergic, panting or the area seems to spread and appears worse) then i'd consider calling a vet for advice.

It's not unusual, most dogs are no affected by insect bites, a minority react to them but i wouldn't get stressed about it - especially if the dog doesn't seem bothered.

Thank you Elizabeth sooo much your advice has been very helpful :) he doesn't seem bothered in the slightest :hihi: he's out sunbathing again lol. Will keep an eye on him, I'm more bothered by them than he is :( xx

Can always pour boiling water on the ants - that'll get rid of them!

I'd say just one 4mg piriton tablet for that small size, three times a day.

(It's approx. 0.4mg for a Kg) - but if in doubt always double check with your vet, better to be safe than sorry! :)

Takara is covered in little bumps all over her head... yet again...

She gets it every year - she looks a right state. Tried everything - seems it's just not going to happen annually. Thankfully it doesn't bother her.
