Stiffmyster
I would warn everyone not to bother with this company!!! Last year I booked our honeymoon/holiday for myself my husband and 2 small children with this company and it was a complete joke. To be honest we only used them as my sis in law works for them and assured me everything would be fine.We booked the holiday 9 weeks in advance and was sent all the confirmation details through the post.( btw my sis in law didnt book it!) We had no problems until we reached Turkey. We had paid extra for transfers to the hotel so when we landed we headed to the coach park. After waiting 25 mins in the scorching heat we were told we wasnt on the list for transfers. I showed the guy all my paperwork and certificates to prove we had paid and he was adamant that we wasnt on the list. We spent the next hour on the phone(my mobile) to the transfer company and Alpharooms (when they eventually picked up the phone) trying to sort it out. Although we wasnt on the list the guy agreed to drive us to our hotel. After an hour we arrived at the hotel we had paid for and was dropped at the gates. We made our way to reception only to be told we wasnt on their list of new arrivals. After checking and double checking myself I was really starting to panic. It was now about 6.30 in the evening and we had been up since 5.30am the previous morning and the kids were tired and hungry. We were just left there for the next hour and a half while the manager tried to sort something out. We were told eventually they were fully booked up and there wasnt any room at all for us. The manager called his friend who is a travel agent in the hope he could help find us somewhere to stay. After another hour of phone calls to Alpharooms the guy found us another hotel to stay in. We were so grateful to this man as he put all our stuff in his car and drove us to this new hotel free of charge. The new hotel was great and in the end we really enjoyed our holiday. When we got back I received a phone bill with £96 charges for the calls I had made to Alpharooms whilst in Turkey. I wasnt happy to say the least. I made a complaint to the company but was told there was nothing they could do as they had already agreed to upgrade us to this new hotel we stayed in(apparently that was a more expensive hotel and they had to foot the bill.)!!! The bloomin cheek! We had paid for the holiday not them and it was their mistake afterall. It turns out the girl who had booked our holiday and sent out the confirmation had forgotten to send the confirmation to TURKEY!!!!! ALPHAROOMS spoilt the start of our holiday and ruined the start of our married life. I would avoid them at all costs!! Rant over!
Kat326
I'm hoping they are ok as due to go to Lanzarote in a couple of months and have booked the hotel through them (the flights have been booked direct with airline). I called customer services one night about 4 weeks ago after reading some rubbish reviews about them to confirm that although we paid balance not on the day (I assumed they would take the balance automatically) had nevertheless once paid online received our room vouchers within minutes and did this mean all would be fine? They answered after approximately 2 1/2 minutes and checked the booking etc and assured me everything will be fine. Heres hoping so.

Its amazing the diference PEOPLE make in customer service the guy in Turkey bending over backwards to help you out even though he had nothing to gain by this and alpha who had caused the problem! doing the bear minimum by the sound of it. Still glad it got sorted for you although I think I would have taken it further as in my opinion they should have paid your phone charges.

necter
We recently booked and fully paid for our hotel room only to arrive and be told it had been cancelled three days after booking! Alpharooms took the payment when it was due however. We had to spend two hours in the hotel reception waiting for the problem to be sorted. The receptionist said we were lucky as the previous day every room was booked. There appeared to be some mix-up with Hotelbeds who supply the rooms. Whoever was at fault I will never use Alharooms again.
