ashanta67
Hi Thanks to James May, my son has expressed an interest in Scalextric. I wondered if he is too old (12) - I'm sure the basic oval circuit will bore him to bits after 10 minutes. I am mystified by the amount of different types on the market 1.32, 1.64 and digital etc. and also really shocked at the prices. A decent one is about 85 pounds minimum.! Is it worth buying or will it be stuffed in the cupboard after Christmas? Thanks
neeeeeeeeeek
It's horribly expensive, get one of the imitation sets for about 30quid or try find some second hand. Thaks to James May the second hand price has probably just jumped through the roof, what's May doing next? I may go on Ebay and stock up on what ever his next project is! smithy266
Try a wanted ad in the Star: I got tons of it for my (then) teenage son, it's still here, my mates and I sometimes play with it. Son is now 25! Perhaps shell out on a couple of new cars, but second hand track should be ok.
