nikki-red
Ive been given a Whirlpool freezer and on the front is a little thermometer symbol with little arrows pointing down and a button at the side of it (a light comes on when button is depressed) I just wondered if anyone knows if I should be keeping this pressed in or not? Thanks! Sorry if this is in the wrong section!
escort1
Go onto Google, type in Whirlpool .......(model no.) freezer instructions and you should be able to down load a copy.

Plain Talker
Is it the auto-defrost?
piskeymax
My old freezer (different make) had a similar button and it was a fast freeze button. As far as I can remember it was to be pressed after having the freezer door open for any length of time ie after putting the shopping away etc to quickly bring the temperature back down. nikki-red
Both answers make sense lol, I did wonder if it was auto-defrost tho, as Ive been running it about a month with the button not pressed in and there does seem to be a lot of ice.
