Nocterneil 10 #1 Posted August 8, 2009 I recently bought a new car tyre. It cost over £100. Just a week or so after buying it, it "picked up " a nail that went through the tyre wall. I went to a local garage to get the puncture repaired, but was told that because it was in the wall it could not be fixed. Am I really going to have to spend another £105 for a new tyre? medusa 16 #2 Posted August 8, 2009 Unfortunately, yes. Punctures in the flat of the tread are repairable, but those on the joint of the tread and the wall, or in the wall of the tyre are unsafe to repair. Do you have tyre cover in your insurance? The excess would make it unviable but thanks anyhow.
 Share this content via...
anarchist 10 #4 Posted August 8, 2009 The excess would make it unviable but thanks anyhow. You could try contacting Ears Motorsport in Macclesfield. They can't repair your tyre but I have never found anyone cheaper for new tyres. 01625 433773 I just bought some 245 40 17 assymetrics for around £75 each
 Share this content via...
Terry Bull 10 #5 Posted August 8, 2009 I know how you feel, the wifes car is fitted with runflat tyres, you have to replace them wherever the punture is, can't be repaired at all, just had one replaced, almost £300.
 Share this content via...
