scoobz
Here's a walk that we did last November, and enjoyed so much that we are more then happy to repeat next Sunday. Following the canal, this is obviously a flat walk which will take us from Kiveton Park To Worksop, from where we will return back to the starting point along the same route. The total distance is 10 miles, and we will have a good stop at The Lockkeepers at Worksop 1/2 way. There is food there for anyone wanting to buy a meal, but be prepared for a wait, cos if last time was anything to go by, they`re as about as quick as mud drying in this pub. This is a smashing walk, with lots of interesting sights along the way, and is well recommended for anyone, whether you're used to this distance or not. Getting to Kiveton Park is a bit of a problem by public transport on a Sunday, so this will have to be a walk for people getting there by car, so if anyone wants a lift please say so. Meeting point is Kiveton Park railway station at 10.30.

Tallyman
Great idea - a walk in an area I'm completely ignorant about! Hope to join you on this one, as long as Scoobz promises an interesting illustrated talk!
scoobz
The last "illustrated talk" was a one-off, however, I do have a leaflet somewhere, and will dig it out before the week-end and memorise it & repeat it word for word if you want!

scoobz
Excellent idea! Will there be exciting re-enactments of great canal-related historical events? Yep, sure will! For instance, did you know that there is a link between the Chesterfield canal and the Houses of Parliament? All will be explained later! (More useless info on the day too!) Lift is hereby offered to Taxman - Ship Inn on Shalesmoor ok at 9.50ish?

neoteric
I will be coming on this one and can offer a lift from around the Norfolk Park area, I've 3 free seats at the moment. Better pay more attention to scoobz this time - don't want to get any more lines or detention:)
