Longcol   607 #25 Posted May 4, 2008 You seem to have a shakey grasp on simple economics Gazza. Are you a member of the Labour Party?  How are you proposing that the council refund money that they have already spent?  Do keep up Tony - Gazza is a Tory supporter as evidenced on many threads. ormester101   10 #26 Posted May 4, 2008 When the Lib Dems 'ran' the council a few years ago, council tax rises were somewhat higher. 2000/01 5.7%  2001/02 6.9%  2002/03 5.2%  maybe the mismanagement by labour had something to do with this
 Share this content via...

Ms Macbeth   76 #29 Posted May 5, 2008 Lib dems would rather see it collected as a local income tax, but they would need to be in government to implement what is essentially a fairer way of charging.
 Share this content via...
DList   10 #30 Posted May 5, 2008 So, just to sum it all up: they've been elected by the people, are still gonna charge those people more to live here and aren't really going to be able to change anything.  And, from reading all the leaflets I got through the door, most of the campaign was based around grafitti and some school that's being closed. Is that really all we have to worry about?  Can someone please tell me what the point of the local elections is?
 Share this content via...
