McLovin
You must be lost for words you are quoting me.I think we have gone full circle. If only. However you have casted aspersions on my character, inferring that I am a thief and that you are morally and socially better than myself. Then you take the hump because I own my own company. If anyone is misguided, it's you. It must be great to be you. I bet you look in the mirror daily and think to yourself "Wow I'm such an upstanding member of the UK population. I bet the queen will be handing me my OBE any day now".
wopp
it would be interesting to know (although probably impossible to find out) how many people on low paid/minimum wage jobs steal from their employees and think they're entitled because the money's crap. Start a thread with an anonymous poll perhaps?

Deepak_S7
This happened to me tonight !! Ive just got back from a night out and thought Id check out the forum Amazing I didnt even need to search it was the 4th thread down OK I got on a bus and paid a pound When I looked at my ticket it was an OAP one I got off and phoned the number on the ticket They werent bothered and transferred me to a different extension at First This person wasnt bothered either If I wanted to I can call back tomorrow to talk to a manager !!!!!!!! What???? OK so taking a pound off me isnt a big deal On the other hand it is dishonest and makes me wonder what else the driver is doing illegally Its also possible he isnt even a driver and has stolen the bus Unlikely but possible I suggested this to First and was still told to call back tomorrow I have kept the ticket and memorised the number on the back of the bus ANy comments on what I should do? First cant be bothered Why should I be? Deepak
DIVA
If First are knowingly underpaying the driver for the work he is doing, are First stealing from all busdrivers and their families?
Cyclone
no this would not happen, the driver would be removed from duty and subsequently questioned about his thieving ways, he takes a chance, he pays the price. Unless ofcourse you actually look like the type of person that dodges paying their fare. I don't believe you. Inspectors don't guess that the driver hasn't issued a fair, they fine the person travelling without a ticket. Maybe subsequently the driver gets investigated, but if you travel with no ticket then you're the one liable for the penalty fare. Anyway, there's no argument that justifies theft. If a driver thinks they don't get paid enough, quit and go and get another job.
Cyclone
Not so, you have VIDEO evidence of purchasing the correct ticket. All buses have them. Therefore the driver would be dealt with accordingly and that's his/her lookout. All the new buses yes, and it can be checked in depot only.
