geenius77
Hi there Mr and my Fiancee set two Chinese Lanterns off outside last night at around 7PM near the Vine.... did anyone see them! Anyway, as they flew off we were left pondering...does anyone know the following... How high do they reach? How far do they travel? I know its dependant on wind etc, (must have been about 5-10mph last night) but we dont know how long they stay alight for! Cheers G
Fantomas
I don't but I was thinking of getting some to set off at midnight on New Year's Eve. Does anybody know anywhere in Sheffield that sells them?

There was a thread on here (that i encouraged ) Some chap had seen them from east bank road, i was saying they could have been meteorites etc!!! Sorry They dont go very far tho really, maybe a mile. They look like they go a lot further but they dont.
geenius77
cheers for the reply... do the wicks burn out after a short while then pinnacle? (I was hoping someone might have asked if they saw strange lights last night!)
pinnacle
Thats right, the wicks just burn away. Its too cold for people to be outside too long this time of year so sightings will be few.
nick2
They are so cool, no doubt they will traumatise someones cat and there will be calls for them to be banned, but until then.
