Clifflad
Should the long term unemployed be given work to do in exchange for their benefits. Some look upon benefits as a way of life. In the last month I have met three Poles and two Ukrians who came here a month ago , all five are now working.
TESTPASS
I hate this sort of post, it reminds me of FOX NEWS. "some people look upone benifits as a way of life" Who? at least back up your claim with some examples. and of course they look at it that way IF they Are actually on benifits. Funny tho, just the other day I thought some bankers see banking as a way of life. I think also death isnt a way of life. and without benifits ... heeleyrachel
Surely it depends what type of benefit they are on doesnt it? and oither individual circumstances like health, finances and so on... I happen to work but I can see why many people dont for a variety of reasons.
coco_custard
i'd quite like a long term unemployed to come & do some gardening in exchange for their benefits, specifically the long term unemployed usually found in a Wetherspoons come opening time on giro day. 04jessops
Should the long term unemployed be given work to do in exchange for their benefits. Surely if they're working for them they wouldn't be benefits any more?
Clifflad
Lots of people arrive in this country and find work within a few weeks - why can't the long term find work . Perhaps they find benefits more suitable for their life style.

If a section of society didn't choose to live on benefits, you'd have one less group to look down your nose at. Eventually, you'd have nothing to moan about at all. Then where would you be?
