  1. Definately mate I agree it's light at the end of the tunnel because as you said it's somewhat solid which what you need, and as said above having family who commit mass amounts of money into following Wednesday every year i'm happy for them and many other "die hard" owls fans that this has finally come about. However from a business man's point of view, I really can't seem this company investing rediculous amounts of cash into SWFC, it's just not feasible is it.........The club are still massively in debt and investing mass amounts of money into the club just would'nt turn a profit in the next decade would it. The new investment needs to be looked at as a savoiur I feel, and to enable it to work to it's maximum and to move the club onwards and upwards.....The stay away Owls need to finally wake up and crawl out of the closet and get down to hillsborough and cheer on a new start for SWFC to help start the new revolution at SWFC as such.
  2. Erm I dont know what to say without you lot jumping off your glory wheels and having a pop at me, at the end of the day i'm some what sickenedly happy for the die hard owls mob (what with having an hard core section in my fsmily as well) that an agreement has suddenly come to light. However.........I feel a few of you need to sit and realistically look at whats on the table before thinking it's some new revolution for SWFC. The initial £2 million is nothing other than whats needed to secure the safety of the club in the near future alone....you only have to look at how frequent the tax man comes knocking! he took £700k from you a couple of months ago, he's gonna take £600k from your £2m and no doubt he's gonna come back knocking for another £600k before too long so I some what feel it's all down to the fans to wake up and stand up now and make yourself counted. This investment is'nt gonna single handedly going to carry you forward and make you a force to be reckoned with, in fact in the near future all it's going to do is give the club the stability to stand on it's on feet.....I feel the fans now need to turn up at the club and pay money over the gates to make it pay off....The club will very much still be in debt and STILL very much so needs you lot to support it to take you on to the next level......Open door really for the real fans to turn up and start generating a profit for your club.
  3. Erm cos this post makes sense Reidy....... Sheffield wednesday a big club who only just dropped down from the top flight, with a much higher average attendance than any of the clubs listed anyway............... your point being what??? i think it was set in stone that the attendance would be higher!
  4. Those prices aren't bad for season ticket holders at all, however average joe who pays at the gate per week has to pay £10 for him and then £5 for his young uns to watch something of a pointless match as very few people are interested in it. I feel £10 for him and nowt to get his kids in would have been a perfect opportunity for him to take his kids to the match who have been nagging him for weeks as he wasn't gonna pay full price but kill two birds with one stone and all that? Lets see what the attendance is anyway, I know being a blades fan that TV fixtures majorly affect attendances......especially in a game with little significance like this.
  5. I've just been reading that the JPT organisers contacted all teams participating in this round of the tournament to try and negotiate ticket offers to try and get more fans through the gates. A good few teams including Bristol Rovers, Leyton Orient, MK Dons and Colchester amongst others followed requests to offer free entry to anyone under 16 and others such as Swindon etc all offered a quid a kid scheme instead, overall the idea was a massive attempt to encourage a family environment and to reward fans with a cheap bonus match so to speak. Anyway the teams who haven't introduced the offers have done it off their own back, and without delibrately knocking wednesday and more looking at it from an Owls fans point of view....I feel it would have been nice of the club to offer this offer to the loyal fans who have stuck by the club recently thru some very challenging times? I mean it's a juicy local derby and who knows a "free kid with a paying adult" scheme might have even brought in a bigger attendance and even more money into the bank. Either way I think the fans deserved this in my opinion and I think it's a pity Wednesday failed to show the appreciation and follow trend in introducing the offer. Ok they need all the money the club can bring in however this Fixture in theory is a bonus one anyway, therefore any profits are profits at the end of the day. A good result in front of a good crowd might have even had knock on effects and encouraged a few stay away fans to return to league fixtures too maybe? PS = What with it being televised a good few people will most probably opt to stay at home, where as this offer could have even persuaded a few people to have a trip to the ground instead?
  6. Was just about to say the same, a string of three wins take us up and amongst the top 6.....would that make us then in a play-off / promotion battle? I think not.....the season is very very early!
  7. Huddersfield 3 v 0 Peterborough (Pilkington 24min) Macclesfield 0 v 1 Crewe (og Daniel 4min)
  8. Just thought I'd keep an updated list of tonights JPT's as they come in for you Owls fans just to let you know whos on the cards for the next round...... Northern Section: Huddersfield 2 v 0 Peterborough Southern Section: Mk Dons 1 v 0 Charlton Swindon 1 v 0 Torquay
  9. What a rediculous post, we're barely into the season with too many points to play for to even think about either promotion or relegation......and regardless of anything were only a couple of wins off the play-off positions therefore again a pointless thread. United are playing good football, our only problem so has has been putting the ball in the back of the net...... POINTLESS POINTLESS THREAD!
  10. Sheffield Wednesday v Chesterfield F.C Johnstones Paint Trophy Wed 6th Oct 2010 @ 7:15pm Live On Sky Sports 2. Just thought I would start a matchthread for the above game on wednesday night fellas, might be seen as a nothing tournament but as said a somewhat easy chance for The Owls to have a day out in the capital at Wembley. Chesterfield are some what on a high after an excellent come back at the weekend against Crewe to draw 5-5 in league two, however Owls fans are also happy after a well battled win away at Notts County in league one therefore both teams should have plenty of confidence going into this one. In my opinion should be a comfortable win for Wednesday and a place in the hat for the next round, however not only on Saturdays performance but on their performance against M'boro at a couple of months ago in the cup and how they have turned up in recent years for big games, I feel Chesterfield can't be taken with a pinch of salt and Wednesday need to take them serious therefore a full strenght squad has to be the only way forward in this game, a second strand would'nt be enough I feel. Discuss at will fellas.....
  11. I'm currently watching split screen TV as we speak thanks to Sky Sports who have done this to allow football fans to watch a potentially great game of football in the shape of Chelsea v Arsenal, as well as watch Europe beat USA at golf in the ryder cup! Cracking idea.......not missing either now and get the watch them at the same time! Just press the Red Button, then the ( i ) button for those interested.
  12. Well done Fellas! Starting out can be very hard work, putting 11 new faces together on a football pitch with completely different styles of play is'nt easy as you all have to get to know how eachother play which can take a season to happy with many teams before you manage any for of success. But it seems you lot are a pretty tight outfit who all want to do well for eachother and it's paying off so far. It seems as though your not only turning up to play football but turning up to win not only for yourselves, but for eachother and most importantly for Sheffield Forum FC sooo full credit to you! Anyway I wish you all the very best of luck and hope you can carry on your impressive start to the season and hopefully even win the league!!!!! Wll done again, shouls be proud of yourselves!
  13. What a load of absolute nonsense.....Shows you know nothing about United nor Mr McCabes financial arrangements with United, therefore please leave your scare-mongering to your own Club because were just fine thank you very much.
  14. Absolutely gutted myself, was really looking forward to the golf today....As the rain gets heavier it now looks as though were destined for an afternoon of Skys collection of classic Ryder Cup moments.

  17. Your just in a sort of dip away from the masts therefore o2 and T Mobile should both work however your always going to be faced with the problem of dropping signals most probably. However Signal checkers for the network state: o2: Signal = Standard / High T-Mobile: Signal = Standard / Good Vodafone: Signal = Stndard / Good Which in theory suggests that all major networks should get a respectable amount of signal where you are. Have you considered getting a Blackberry mobile phone? The Curve version costs about £120 now, however this phone would be great for you as it routes calls thru your Broadband router to get signal, therefore you always get full signal in a no signal area. It's not complicated or anything like that, You simply pair it up wirelessly as you would a laptop and then the UMA technology kicks in which gives you full signal. Once you leave the house it switches automatically back to the Network sooo you will always have signal, and when you get home and withing radius of the router it simply switches straight back to UMA. Just food for thought.
  18. I see Barcelona are losing 1-0 away to team of russian nobodies with a name similar to Rubix Kube......That surely has a few peoples bets down already!
  19. No tips tonight Corker mate? Few Matches on..........
  20. If thats Bartley then Adebola has got away with it big time because in all honesty he was very late in on Bartley in the first place and I will have to see the replays to confirm but it looked nasty, I did'nt see him get a yellow for it either which is the least he should have got, might have even been a Red but maybe i'm being a bit over-reacting, only the replay will show me that when i'm home shortly. Maybe the ref did'nt see it properly and judged it as a simple clash of heads who knows?
  21. Not prolific at all however weathered the storm when they had to, forest were no better than us on tonights performance anyway. Saying that both teams pretty much cancelled eachother out which in turn made it a very tiresome game to watch with little real creativity. Either way top result and i'm very happy with it, Missed Wardy tho he could have done a good job for us tonight with his pace and I feel Quinny could have been thrown on in the second hald as even he has a bit of pace that could have worked. Both Yeates and Boggy started very well tonight however faded off early doors probably due to match fitness.
  22. He clapped fans as he went off but was grimacing with pain, did'nt look that clever.
  23. Can somebody let me know about the injury to Bartley please, did'nt look too good as he went off, any updates in press would be appreciated.
  24. First half finished all Forest, second half started very scrappy from both sides hope we can hold them off as forest looked to be taking control before the break. Nothing to sing home about from either team, but we have done enough so far and I'm happy considering they have posters promoting a year unbeaten at home around and about the place.
