  1. He should be sectioned, but that would set a troublesome precedent.
  2. Possibly one of the stupidest posts in the whole discussion.
  3. How are we penalised? It is not that the EU can't get a deal, it is that they are holding out for a good deal. TTIP for example is taking so long to negotiate because America is looking to screw us. On our own, we don't have the weight to carry through the terms we might want, and we won't have the time to hold out.
  4. PMSL. It would indeed be interesting. We know there are people who voted "to keep the muslins out", people who voted because of the bananas, there is a farmer who famously voted leave for the sovereignty, not expecting to lose his EU migrant workforce, some who voted leave in order that remain did not have too big a majority, thousands who simply voted against Cameron and his little friend... And you are damn right that they wouldn't want to publish the answer: imagine them having to admit the mess they've put the country into because of reasons such as these, with statistics to estimate the proportions they made up. But there have been surveys and we already know that the two main reasons are: a) That we've had an incompetent Home Secretary for many years (immigration) and b) that we've had an incompetent Home Secretary for many years (control of our laws) ---------- Post added 11-07-2017 at 01:23 ---------- Tell you what though. I'll give you number 63 and add it to the official list. "the ensuing recession is going to bring house prices down."
  5. But the electorate voted on the clear understanding that the government can rarely be trusted to do as it promised. But parliament is stuffed with spineless incompetents, with barely a handful prepared to stand up and give the referendum the respect it deserves. No we don't. Unless we are discussion no more than word definitions.
  6. He has said. For reasons that have not been explored, he thinks that the EU is going to fail, and, being as how we are the nation that invented the Birkenhead Drill, we ought to run away, like rats from a sinking ship.
  7. Plenty of countries are in the Single Market, but not in the EU. The ballot paper did not say: "Should the UK leave the Single Market?", nor did it say "Should the UK end freedom of movement?", but the rabid racists had the loudest voices and claimed the result as their own.
  8. I don't doubt the consistency of your reasons, only that your reasons don't hold water. This one? Too much trouble to provide a link is it, or are you hoping that we'll take you on faith and not find that that post contains no explanation whatsoever... except that you're a fwightened little runaway.
  9. What he means is that he has no good reason, and he's too embarrassed to repeat his not so good reasons because they have been so thoroughly debunked. The official SF list of valid reasons for wanting to leave the EU currently stands at: 1) The Common Agriculture Policy. . . . . .
  10. You might want to check this out: https://www.flockbrexit.eu/ ---------- Post added 10-07-2017 at 16:00 ---------- I dug one up on my allotment a while back, alas it was torn in two, but I think it perfectly symbolises the nation: grubby and divided so I ran it up the plum tree. Unfortunately one half blew away. Not sure what that's supposed to symbolise.
  11. Will of the people... Will of the people... Knew what they were voting for... Will of the people. TRAITOR. ---------- Post added 10-07-2017 at 11:33 ---------- Sorry, forgot to say "You lost: Suck it up Buttercup". Think that has covered the entirety of the argument...
  12. Because we're British and it is tantamount to treason to suggest that we are anything less than the best.
  13. This is a good question, and I would like to see it answered in absolute terms rather than relative ones: examples of his merits rather than reasons why he would be better than May... the latter would be no argument since a dose of dysentery would run the country better than May.
  14. Do you not have a dictionary? ---------- Post added 08-07-2017 at 13:22 ---------- It is (if memory serves) the act or habit of considering something as worthless.
  15. Any chance that you two could stop bickering and return to the subject? Preferably that of Brexit rather than the Mogg: if he is that important then start a new thread, but frankly he leads me to floccinoccinihilificate.
  16. Are you really? Is this not the well informed level that we have come to expect of some people here?
  17. Times have changed a touch in 40 years.
  18. Closer to "let's divorce then have an affair", which I'm told happens quite a lot. No? Tell it to the DUP.
  19. There is a petition around for him to become leader of the Conservatives... I can probably find it for you if you want?
  20. Now be fair, he does use impressively long words.
  21. Labour is its own worst enemy, for a number of reasons. The best thing they could do is split and the two halves can focus on their strengths. If they have any sense they would split amicably and form an alliance. If they're properly sensible they would form a party that attracts the more sensible members of the Conservative party as well. Unfortunately tribalism outranks good sense by a wide margin.
  22. There was mention on TV yesterday that they did not want to be housed within sight of the building: fair enough, I can imagine it would be fairly traumatic to keep looking at it, but at the same time they want to be re-housed locally and it is a damn great big tall thing that can be seen for miles...
