  1. But that 80% is not well represented in the Cabinet.
  2. If the playing field is levelled, then those already used to playing in the mud will have the advantage.
  3. No. no, no. People are fed up of experts: the referendum proved that, and the government ignored the experts in line with Will, of the People. ergo, they are entirely in touch... Ain't democracy grand: the vast majority are not very intelligent, so let us have them make important decisions...
  4. It is not the same as money. That simple confusion is the root cause of most of the world's troubles. Almost all of those people hailed as "wealth creators" only make money, and in doing so devalue all the real wealth.
  5. It is for essential maintenance or some such. Normal service will be resumed...
  6. Somebody would have. Was there a point you were failing to make?
  7. Sorry, I'm not getting your point. The whole of the Dunkirk thing was running away.
  8. Come now, what about the Dunkirk Spirit and British True Grit? Britain did some of its best work after the war: we bounce back after being completely and shafted. That is the purpose of Brexit: to shaft us completely so we bounce back even better.
  9. As I recall, the EU kept changing the treaty, until the Irish accepted it.
  10. The real problem is that the political classes are completely out of touch with the real world, so they have to prove how in touch they are by delivering the will of the people...

  14. Yes, but they did not have to spell these things out because it was an advisory referendum.
  15. Clever the way they brainwash you into thinking you can see them in their vans on a tea-break most of the day... How many council workers would vote for an increase in pay that was conditionally tied to a productivity element?
  16. Strangely double posted. See below.
  17. There is some truth in that. I was sub-contracted to a council some time back where their union had successfully argued that it wasn't fair that the office staff could adjourn to the canteen for their tea break and all the works gangs could not... I'll leave you to think about the consequence of that...
  18. Yes, but if Blair says it then it can't possibly be true can it? Some people just don't understand ad hominem.
  19. We are talking about a council here? Sheffield City Council no less, and you need to ask that question? It is a similar natured question to the one asking how is anyone to tell if a Cabinet Minister is lying...
  20. Especially with "unemployment at a record low"...
  21. It did occur to me that if we were to run with the divorce analogy, then perhaps we should have a trial separation before the divorce, and see how it goes... No idea how that should work though. I'm sure it is just coincidence that the biggest Brexit facebook groups are all fronted by a chap based in Moscow. Putin would've been more subtle...
