Hi My little lad is looking for a football team to join, I realise I have a left a bit late but just wondering if there are any teams out there. He is 7 years old but is very small for his age but this doesn't stop him getting stuck in against lads who are a lot bigger. He has never played for a team before but has had experience at a couple of football camps. Ideally in the Handsworth area but further afield is fine. Cheers Matt

Just wondering if anybody else on the Gateway estate has been receiving letters from CJPS asking for funds for the maintenance of the Open Space areas around the estate. I vaguely remember the Barrats sales rep mentioning something about a small annual fee to maintain the estate but I have no recollection of agreeing or signing anything saying that I would pay this. I can't see anything on my deed's or land registry detailing this charge at all so is it just this management company trying to make a bit more money. Also what open spaces are they maintaining other then those around the flats and possible the grassed area around the estate which the path runs through which is usually unusable for me and my children due to the amount of dog muck or is this particular grassed area maintained by the council. Plus also we still have unfinished footpaths and roads with raised iron works which have no sign of ever being finished a bit like the park that was meant to be getting built on the estate. Therefore just wondering if I should be paying this amount before I get threatened with additional solicitors fees on top. Cheers matt

Between Owler Bar and Fox House was almost impassible today at 8:30 in a car. However, there were some people all in four by four that were going that way. I myself in a zafira had to turn round just after Owler Bar and make my way back to Handsworth. I've been driving that way to work for the last 6 years and that is the worst i have seen that stretch of road, due to snow. At points it was difficult to make out where the road was and I imagine if the wind has picked up then there will be some snow drifts. I think it would be very silly to attempt that stretch without a four by four.

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah i'm after matching wall units for my existing symphony kitchen. Ive been to the local dealer and all they do is contact symphony directly themselves and it still ends up being the same price. I was just wondering if there was an independent company who might sell there range thats all. Looks like im gonna have to bite the bullet and get them direct.

Does anybody where to get Symphony manufactured kitchen units from other then going direct to Symphony themselves as they charge a lot? Cheers in advance.

Snow was coming down really bad at OWLER Bar at 7.45 this morning and was covering the roads.

Can anyone recommend a good local carpet shop? We've got a new house that needs fully carpetting? Had a good quote from Balfour Carpets in Darnall and was wondering if anyone can recommend them? Matt

we had a drive round Athelstan and must admit our first impressions of it weren't too good. Can i ask why you tried to get your son in St Joseph rather then Athelstan? Was it because of the schools performance or just other factors?

Anybody any info?

Does anyone know if St Joseph Primary School at Handsworth has a waiting list for pupils or do i have a good chance of transfering my children to this school for the new term this September? And if not can anyone recommend any other good primary schools in the Handsworth area? Have been looking at Athelstan School and Ballifield Primary School? Thanks in advance. Matt
