Ever since popular culture began kids have taken the blame for the country going to hell in a hand basket with the media whipping up public panic teds rockers mods skins punks mods again in 79 new romantics casuals scooter boys rave culture hoodies chavs. they have all been demonised in the media and middle england take it in I'm not daft I know it's worse than it used to be but not as bad as the media make out

I have no problem with admitting that if someone pulled a knife on me I would defend myself if I had to,but lumping all these kids together and saying they need a good hiding like the good old days is just plain daft In the old days we also had rickets diptheria and you could get locked up just for looking at the upper classes the wrong way, Shall we bring those back too or just the ones that suit you and your agenda. like I said I think you have lost all credibility to argue your case no matter how valid you think it is by you admission of using one crime to solve another

Thank you so you condone the use of one illegal act to stop another then the issue of 'giving a good hiding' was not connected to a knife wielding 14 year old thug although there was a threat to stab(I think the police would take a very dim view of anybody causing GBH just because they thought the lad may have a knife) it was a gang of spotty herberts giving this other lad a hard time because they had been asked to leave his place of work. Fire with fire sound like taking the law into your own hands to me

you have not answered my questions you have just ranted about how evil the world is and how we should all live in fear because these kids are all out to kill us could you please answer my questions in my other post in stead of swerving the issues i have raised and trying to make out I don't understand what it's like on the streets and impyling I must be mad not to agree with you

Did you post that? do you agree it is illegal? have you lost all credibility to argue your point? Do you condone the use of violence on minors?

A good hiding is GBH and is ILLEGAL and a long way from a clip round the ear and your attempt to distance yourself from your own comments and worm your way out of what you have posted is frankly insulting to all others who have posted on this thread

I have no problem to offenders getting locked up, I do think prison should be a lot harder than it is but I do think our justice system would become a farse without that simple rule of INNOCENT UNTILL PROVEN GUILTY

on the other hand they may have been on a geography field trip from school. we used to go out in the local are all the time to look at housing estate lay outs and how roads where used and linked. they could have been doing that rather than looking for a house to break in to

My uncle went to Australia in the early 70's, he came back quite often. When he would arrive here he would have a quite strong Australian twang it would only take him the time it would take to drink about four pints to start talking sheffield again
