  1. Found a Quran and some Dunhill glasses at Burbage Bridge last night, probably from a car which had been broken into as there was glass about, but no car. I have left them at the Sheffield Islamic Centre Madina Masjid on Wolseley Road if they are yours or you know someone who has
  2. Karl, check your PMs please http://www.dpfr.org.uk/#news/item/765
  3. does anyone know who the Liquidators are, or is this latest Boulding Bankruptcy only a rumour so far? If it is a rumour, it's only a matter of time before they will go bust, just like they always do!
  4. T W Sampson did the work on the first phase of the Crucible refurbishment. Then they went bust on a Friday and didn't pay their staff, suppliers and other debtors Then a “pre-packed” phoenix company from bankrupt firm restarted the following day as Sampson Engineering Services in the same premises, same directors, same everything except the accounts with last Friday's company which were never settled That was 17 months ago Yesterday, the "new & improved" Sampson Engineering Services went into administration http://www.twsampson.co.uk/index.html Not a dissimilar situation to Merlin Estates really!
  5. what's it got to do with him? http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/sys_upl/templates/pt_directory/PT_Directory_details.asp?esLtr=ALL&ItemId=106858&action=Display&pgid=185304&tid=154&DirectoryKeywords=&CategoryID=&OrderDir=ASC&OrderFld=
  6. Hey chaps, I've worked it out! I know where they are going to get all their money from now. Check this item out on eBay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260632270830&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT they are now selling items on eBay as another company cwc_trading I wonder if they are doing this ahead of going bust, or are these items removed from properties to sell for their personal gain at the expense of their creditors? Surely not, the Liquidator would never let that happen would he?
  7. TOP POST Pete! It's not often that you see a Solicitors in the list of creditors for a bankrupt company. I'm surprised anyone with a grain of common sense will work with these unscrupulous, contemptuous "business people"
  8. NO! http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?p=3917339#post3917339 I can't believe that Mike and Deirdie Boulding are at it again. What is wrong with this country letting these people continue to do this? I have posted much styronger comments about Mr. Merlin and Hinchliffe, but they are removed by the forum administrators. Let's see if this stays here, after all, we are all only telling the truth and stating facts about dishonest business practices
  9. afternoon, can anyone point me to the members of the Sheffield Local Education Committee please? I would like to find out who the people that make the decisions about our children's education are. I've searched the council website, but can't find anything there. Thanks, and Happy New Year
  10. great recommendation, thanks. Sheffield Glass wanted £57 and Central Glass £23 for EXACTLY the same thing.

Offices on Burley Moor Road, been there nearly 100 years, went bust one day, continued working on Sheffield Crucible refit next day as TW Sampson Ltd. Same staff, same materials, just minus ~£300k unpaid account with one of their suppliers

  13. Builder left bankrupt 'forced to leave home' Published Date: 29 January 2009 By Sarah Dunn A SUCCESSFUL Barnsley builder left bankrupt after Sheffield developers Merlin Estates went bust, says he has been forced to leave South Yorkshire for a new life in Thailand. Lyndon Murphy says he was owed around £150,000 by the Crookes-based property developer - leaving him unable to pay his staff, his suppliers or the tax man. He took on a £25,000 overdraft and remortgaged his house to try to cover costs when Merlin stopped paying him in September 2007. Now a bankruptcy court hearing has banned him from being managing director of a British company for the next three years - forcing him, wife Alison, and two children, to leave their home in Greenfoot Close and start again in Thailand. Mr Murphy, 37, said: "All that was left for me was going back to laying bricks - but there's no work there at the moment. "It's really sad because at one stage I had 100 men working for me - - but now it's all gone." He said he began working with Merlin seven years ago when they were starting out. Over the years work escalated to bigger projects including apartment blocks and student housing. But he said problems started when Merlin started to model themselves on property giant Gleesons, bringing in high-paid quantity surveyors and project managers. Mr Murphy said all the different interests meant developments often started one or two months late - also, when the floods struck in June 2007, a student flats project in Solly Street was put seriously behind schedule. He said he and his workforce - along with plumbers, joiners and electricians from other businesses - worked overtime to get the job finished in time for the new term. They did complete it - but when he invoiced Merlin with his final bill he didn't get paid. By Christmas 2007 he was owed £60,000 and had to take on a £25,000 overdraft to cover staff wages. Despite meetings with Deirdre Boulding - who ran Merlin with husband Mike - the debts continued to rise and further invoices remained either partially or completely unpaid. When Mr Murphy terminated his contract with the company in April last year he was owed a total of £147,000, was up to his overdraft limit, and had been forced to re-mortgage his house. Last week a meeting of Merlin's creditors heard the firm owed £15 million to business across the region - although the real figure could be as much as £21 million. The Bouldings claim all they have is a £4,000 Seat car and some furniture, although an investigation is being carried out by an insolvency examiner. Mr Murphy added: "They built their company up, using me and others like me to get where they were, and then they treat you like this."
  14. Not sure of the sequence, but it was DEFINITELY Boulding's home at one point. They may have bought it from the council when they closed it from an elederly person's care home, David Wish lived there, Lara Croft's dad (Mr. Gremlin). Whatever, they did own it quite soon after Boulding Industrial Supplies went bust.
  15. Merlin Estates are owned by Michael Boulding and his wife Deidrie. They operated as Boulding Industrial Supplies near Atlas Works on Carlisle Street in the 1980s and went bust there. They owed me £180 - so big deal! I learned from that, the bankrupcy papers later showed they owed nearly a million then which was huge in the 1980s. They avoided losing everything by putting things in her name, then they bought Castle Dyke House on Ringinglow Road, the place thet Naseem Hamed bought. They sold it to him. They then bought Beauchief Hall which was sold on, possibly to that other famous Sheffield bankrupt Hichcliffe! Michael Boulding's brother is Tom Boulding the landlord of Fagans pub on Broad Lane. It faces the now defunct development accross the road, funny old world .......
