Not had tiger nuts for yonks. I take it you've tried the Nut Bar @ Meadowhell?

...nearly fell of chair when we opened letter, we were expecting it to say no. All the months of worry are now behind us...
I'm glad you got the result you were after. I remember that feeling of elation from when I opened a similar letter 3 years back.

We have so many questions... do you just want trendy young things or will you do pensioners' hair too?

Tony Hale at S. Burgess & Co, S8 (email: service@sburgess.co.uk) has been doing my annual accounts for a decade. Has probably saved me more than the accountancy fees come to. Personal service - visits me at home or work so I never need to visit their offices.

...ultimately it is down to us as parents and support them in their endeavours, encourage them to fulfil their potential yet not put too much pressure on them. Being happy, socially able, mixing with a diverse range of people and having friends for me are far more important.
I couldn't agree more.

Would you pay for private school if you could afford it? No, I wouldn't - for the reasons mentioned by others. People I know who went to private schools (including Benenden) generally had a horrible, lonely experience and would not impose that on their own children. The child's happiness and ability to form friendship groups is paramount IMO.

The cost of diesel has risen a lot just recently - perhaps accounting for some of the fare increases?

You can buy me a pint IF you get your money back.

You're obviously on the side of the angels, bekki26 and a responsible owner. A guy down our street walks 2 dogs without leads and they always stop and wait for him to clean up their mess. Can Akita's be trained to do that?

Place is just a couple of minutes down the road from me, so took a lunchtime stroll in the glorious sunshine round the block. Building looks deserted - broken windows - name on the sign reads Atlantic Property (UK) Ltd, 0114 258 1555

Five Star Treatment ...apparently.

Looks like they've moved from Chesterfield Road.

good news, the incoming head is organising a new logo.
Abbeydale recently got a new logo (lots of colourful dots - I rather like it), but wonder what effect it had? King Teds on the other hand, still appears to have it's original logo. Not saying there's anything significant about this but my kid's doing ok at KES, even with an old-fashioned logo.

I have put this link on before, and it still makes me laugh
:hihi:
Some of the mess comes from dogs going 'walkies' without their owners. Should all be fitted with a bum bag IMO.

The Bell Hagg has always been a welcome sight after the drive back from Manchester airport. A sign that I've arrived back home. Great name too.

I think that if you do not vote, then you cannot complain about the state of politics today.I know about the voter apathy but I think it is just an excuse as a lot of teenagers over 18 cannot be bothered to tear themselves away from their playstations and walk a few hundred yards to the polling station.
I was proud that my 18 year old went to vote for the first time.I shall encourage him to continue. The suffragettes fought long and hard for a vote for women, so I believe that we should all get out there and make the changes that this country so desperatley needs.Political parties can be shaped by protests and votes.Sitting at home on the settee will never change anything!!
I tend agree with you, espadrille. Apathy is an enemy of democracy. I think that even if you don't want to vote for any of the parties standing, you could at least go to the polling station and ''spoil'' your ballot paper by writing 'none of the above' or something similar on it. That way you register your protest in a way that can be counted and not disregarded.

Good luck tomorrow rainbow sky.

Sometimes happens if the wind is coming from across the Sahara.

Could you give us a few examples of what you mean, please? I can't be bothered to listen to party political broadcasts anymore...
That would be too easy Besides, I'm obviously biaised and would only give selective links or quotes. Much better to shake off your political weariness, and trust your own judgement and interpretation.

Brilliant establishment, Bardwells. Helpful guys and very generous with their knowledge.

I'm in favour of diversity in political representation - so well done to the Greens!
I couldn't agree more.
