I just came across this page by accident, it brings back so many memories I lived first on Overend Rd i think or drive then my dad died and we moved onto Plowright Close, i first went to Herdings School because rowlston had not been built yet, then i went to gleadless Valley SM school, My mom just died but lived in that house since i was 10, and im 57 now I have never been able to find anyone that went to school with me in the 1962 to 1966 it would be great if I could. I also new the whole Gooden family and funny but when my mom died Mrs Gooden was given my moms Home on Plowright Close, small world. I hope i hear from some on you it would be great. Josie

remember the cavendish club near pond street they had some good groups that came to play there, also a dance place on vicar lane i think the one with the mucky duck on the end of it not sure now where it was went dancin there a few times maybe that was the canvendish and i cant remember the other place well that happens when you get to my age

I used to go on thursdays also had a pork and veggie meal i had never eaten there before but loved it felt like a rich person.lol

I went to Gleadless Valley Secondary School, on Mathews Lane its been torn down now did anyone out there go to that school in the 1960's

Wow that brings back memorys i used to work at Wigfalls offices that were in the Wicker, and we would go to the peacock once a week it was so good, I also remember a travel agent there to wood something it was called.
