S5 , disgusted at the lack of poppies in shops.
Eric_Collins replied to Eric_Collins's topic in Sheffield News & Discussions
Seeing no matter what's said its going to be taken out of context or just wrote to to get a reaction. Then I'm leaving this thread alone. I asked why I can't find a poppy in the stores I visit. I have been replied with racist language ( which was removed thank god ) and people resulting in throwing insults at me. -

Seeing they are only sold 2 weeks before the 11/11 then it would be kind of hard would it not ? Besides its more respectful to wear one at the right time when it's called for. -

It's not the money , it's a pride thing. I wear it as a mark of respect to the heros fallen past and present and to the funerals I've attended of my fallen mates. I feel like a scumbag in a way because I'm not wearing one even though I've contributed twice this week. -
Apple time machine backup , how long to backup ?
Eric_Collins replied to Eric_Collins's topic in Computer & Tech Chat
I have a FireWire wire on route in the post somewhere as this didn't get supplied with one. I'm using a USB one as the local shop had them for 99p. Did get a little worried with it cos I plugged it in without a USB to the mac and turned it on and it was like dead, there was no hard drive whizz or fan blowing. So connected it to USB port on mac with drive still on and turned mac on where the drive then sprung to life ! Really crazy ! I'm use to PC stuff, this mac stuff far more alien but I'm starting to like it. -

A57 - A614 is full of road works as part of the widening of the A57 to make it into a dual carriageway. The A614 is having traffic lights installed opposite rufford Abby. The A614 has also had speed restrictions added and average speed cameras, throw in a couple of regular tractors and it makes for a very very long journey. Add in the standing traffic on the M1 junction 32-31 M18. These alone add an extra 40mins to an already 1hr 20min journey. So yes i @x@x@ hate the drive in which I have been doing for 4 years now. Best of it we are moving to Newark on Trent as a company,,,, oh the joys !!! -
Apple time machine backup , how long to backup ?

So I got my Iomega maxmini today and in the progress of a time machine back up. 4.5hrs and it's only 1/4 way done, 15gb out of 60gb done. Is that right , it seems incredibly slow ? SSD in mac to USB 2 external. -

Seeing as the shell garage was located on the A57 somewhere in Nottinghamshire I see no reason to inform people in Sheffield about this, it has no relivance to this area. As for ASDA , there was no poppy on sale at the time I visited which was Monday afternoon. I walked around customer services by the enterence and around the fag counter and even looked on the tills. The other shops mentioned I visit daily and they uptill this afternoon didn't have any for sale. I am an ex-soldier and I wear my poppy with pride , it just saddens me when your bashed on here for telling people that they are not as widespread sold as they should be. -

Don't have time, 6am up 2hr drive to Nottingham , work till 5 then 2hrs back then in bed for 10. Ready for it all again. -
Not many things get my goat but this really gets me going ! I've been looking to buy a poppy for about a week now and S5 shops don't seem to be forthcoming with them. Joblot Best one ASDA (totally supprised me this) These are major shops on the estate and fail to sell poppies to help our war dead and injured. I managed to put money in a poppy box in a shell petrol station on the A57 but didn't get supplied even a poppy. Totally disgusted.

Can't you just sync the photos with iTunes and print from there ? Can you plug I-device into a printer via supplied USB lead and use device navigation like on my old Epson r300 , just guessing here ? I know iphones and iPads do show up as hard disk devices to access photos without iTunes being used when connected to a pc. Other than that there maybe an app that lets your iPad go into disk mode to let you do that, it maybe a jailbreak only app but I'm guessing it's possible. Found a few apps here to print over regular wifi hooked up to a normal wifi of pc hard wired printer. http://www.ipadforums.net/ipad-general-discussions/360-printer.html

Someone in a white van selling them in joblot carpark. -
I got hotspot working again I had to go into cellular data and the option was there to enable , but it had gone from main setting section located near WIFI and network. Once I reenabled it in the cellular options it then reappeared between wifi and network in the main settings screen. But resetting the network options didn't solve it like all the 100's of guides recommended.

Same again today plus my personal hotspot option I use and paying for is now missing !

I updated both iPhone 4,5 last night to 6.0.1 and promptly lost 3G on both devices. From like 8pm until now no 3G even after number of reboots and airport tricks. Problem with three network maybe but odd that both loose 3G directly after an update.
