  1. It was the RexT comment about Andrew and Tony Swallow , I knew nobody from the thread would know me.x
  2. I was a Shiregreener and a Firth Parker , Andrew moved over to the dark side . I was Julie Brown.
  3. Years too late for this thread , but I married Andrew Swallow
  4. Say what you really think ell-tee. Tell them why you think it's a bad idea .
  5. If you remember Shiregreen is a council estate , and you may never know who your neighbours might be you will be fine . I have lived on Shiregreen all my life , good and bad people everywhere. Good luck.
  6. I am proud my daughter chooses to work. I worked and was lucky enough to have my parents to look after mine . They all benefited from that bond .. My grandaughter only has to go to childcare once a week and she loves it , for people who have tuned in about benefits single parents can claim up to 70% of costs . I am a working grandparent , love my job so childcare it is.
  7. She filled in the claim form (well book) , within 2 weeks she had money paid into her account . Working tax credit and child tax credit. The Dad is helping with childcare and has her on his day off so my daughter can work . He also buys the nappies and food for her . So far so good.
  8. I know two families who live on there, it's nice I think.
  9. Fairyworld , I would pick her up , I don't think anyone means don't pick them up in a car , it's more to do with where and how they park.
  10. This is deja vue , 20 years ago as a parent governor , we had the same problem , did the human chain , letters to parents , police , traffic wardens . It is still down to bone idle lazy parents. I know some have to get to work, so set off a little earlier park a few streets away and walk. Simple.
  11. A dog was outside my house earlier , mostly white with i think black and brown markings she was bigger than a jack russell though.Really friendly ran off after a man towards sicey avenue.Looked at the pic it was like that only the size making me wonder.
  12. No furthur along , my daughter tried to get into two advice centres open surgerys but they were full. She needed to know a few ideas as to how many hours to work . also childcare . She went to the job centre and they said if she cuts her hours down to 16 from 24 to claim benefit she will be commiting fraud. Idiots she doesnt want to stop work just make sure she can keep a roof over her head. ---------- Post added 27-10-2013 at 20:58 ---------- She is now waiting for a form to make a claim for Tax credit
  13. Time will tell if he pays up or not , I also have the attitude Zamo , that benefits make it too easy to do nothing. I bet more 52 inch tv's belong to people that don't work than people that do. I consider our family lucky to have not been unemployed , my daughter doesnt want anything other than a little help to keep working , and a roof over their heads.Mind you her face was a picture when I said it meant sky tv had to go and her phone contract.
  14. Do you know something Wallbuilder, I think maybe we are thinkers on the same wave length on some things. Far too many couples "give up" without a fight . Too many fathers walk out that door saying , and I believe mean it at the time , "I will pay for my child". They meet someone else maybe have a new family and treat the old family like it never happened. This relationship isn't working and believe me watching your child so unhappy makes any morals I may have go out of the window for her. Sorry to anyone reading this for benefit advice but Wallbuilder has a point , I will update on her claim for anyone catching this in the future. Thankyou for everyones input.
