  1. hi, thanks for the reply. just spoke with the police. they've found her
  2. Hi, Our dog was taken from outside Asda, Chaucer road, today at about 11am. The family who is believed to have taken her (a man on a bike with a little girl on his lap, a lady with bright red hair pushing a pram and a lad on his bike holding our dog on her lead) was last seen on Wordsworth ave, where Doe Royd Crescent and Southey Hill meet. Our dog apparantly got off the lead and ran all over the road before being caught again. She's 8 yrs old but doesn't look it (very young looking). She's smaller than other dalmatians and has one fully black ear. She comes from a loving family and our children are devastated. Please if anyone knows anything or sees her to get in touch with either myself on here or the police. Thankyou x
  3. Hi, We've got my parents coming over next year for our wedding and due to us only having a 2 bedroom house with 2 children we can't put them up for the 3-4 weeks that they'll be here. We've looked at B&B's, hotels and serviced apartments but they are just all too much. We've searched for a caravan park in the area but not had any luck with that either. We've been told about house swapping or house sitting and are wondering if anyone would like to house swap with my parents house in Brisbane (they will be going elsewhere before coming the the uk so it's possible that you can stop there for longer than the 3-4 weeks that they are here). Or does anyone know of anyone that needs a house sitter for about a month next year while they're away? They've just come into their 60's, non smokers, responsible and tidy people. Thanks for your help Trish
  4. hi all....a little background first. when our little one was born we struggled to find her a formula to suit as she was having problems going for a poo. we put it down to her not suiting the formula and tried pretty much everything available. the doctors were useless when i mentioned it and then we found cow and gate comfort for sensitive digestive systems. it worked great. finally we had a milk she liked and she was going to the toilet fine. they were quite soft ones but it does say the comfort formula does that. then we started her on solids, just baby rice to begin with and gradually adding fruit and vege. since being on solids she's started to have problems with being all hard again. i ended up going to the docs about it as she was having a cereal and fruit mix for breaky, lunch was a vegie mix, and dinner would be something similar with pureed fruit for dessert. she would also be having her bottles aswell and i'd give orange juice with water to help her go. with all the fruit and vege and orange juice she should've been filling her nappy no probs. anyway the doc gave her some lactulose and it worked ok until it ran out and she was back to being hard again. so back to the docs and he's finally referred her to a pediatrition saying that she might have a twisted or narrow passage. i think she's just got to the point that she knows it's gonna hurt so she's trying not to go and when she does go she's crying with it. anyway the doctor has given her more lactulose in the mean time and this week we ended up at the hospital with her as she had a really high temperature that wouldn't go down, with calpol. turns out she has tonsillitis and now she's not really taking any food but is having her bottles so we've just been giving her them. today she's filled her nappy 3 times and they've been really runny so i'm wondering if we should take her off the lactoluse while she's ill and only taking milk? she never had a problem going to the toilet when she was only on the milk so i'm thinking that she doesn't need the lactulose to help her go. has anyone had anything similar with their little ones? x
  5. sorry i haven't been on here for a while. too much to do with a 6 month old and 2 & 1/2yr old. just looking into going back to work and am needing to find a childminder. it'll be about 25hrs/week but it's not a set pattern. i will know my rota in advance for a month and it'll be about 4/5 hrs if i'm working on that day between 8am and 6pm. I've also put his name down for southey green nursery when he turns 3 so they'll need to be able to pick up/drop off from there. I've had a look on the childcare link website and sheffield information site but have only come up with 1 name so far. Does anyone know of any childminders in the S5 area that have any vacancies? thanks
  6. sounds like a good idea. i've not gone to any toddler groups in the area so i wouldn't know which ones would be good to meet at. as for parks i know longley park, parson cross park or hillsborough park. not sure on any other parks as they're the only ones in walking distance to me as i usually take our dog for a walk to them.
  7. i've got a 4yr old, 23 month old and another on the way. if you look on the parenting section there's a thread at the top about jellytots and how to find it. i'm crap at directing people.....you'd end up getting lost if i told you how to get there. lol! i think it's £1.50 to come.
  8. hi again, it's a bit daunting arranging to meet at a park when you dont know the people so here's another suggestion.....the little one and i are off to town today and will be going to the jellytots group down there if anyone else is interested?
  9. Hi, just found this post. i'm 28ys old and in S5 aswell and in the same boat.....would love to to get out and meet more mums in the area. where abouts in the s5 area are you? i'm on the border of southey green and parson cross, near the co-op on southey green road. we often go to longley park or parson cross park for a walk during the day so we could meet up at one of them if anyone wants?
  10. hi all, we popped in on friday and i just wanted to say we had a good time. thanks loads. my son was absolutely knackered on the way home! lol. will try and pop in on wednesday as it was good to get out of the house for a bit and he seemed to enjoy himself. trish
  11. Hi, Just curious if anyone else has been for either one of their scans and had the amniotic band picked up on it. We went for our 2nd scan the other day and the lady doing the scan said she could see the amniotic band floating about. has anyone else had this?
  12. Hi, I had a hospital birth for my 1st, a home birth for my 2nd and now i'm planning on another home birth for this one (i'm 12 weeks pregnant). When i gave birth last time the two midwives that came were totally new to me and i wouldn't mind this but throughout the whole pregnancy when i had my midwife appointments i seemed to have had a different midwife each time. Unfortunately the one midwife that i felt comfortable with and did actually see more than once went on her holidays the week i gave birth! lol. my bad luck i guess. Anyway this time i've had two midwife appointments so far and its been a different midwife each time! Am i destined to go thru the same all again? has anyone else had this problem or is it just me being too sensitive? I know one midwife can't be available to you all the time but to have a different one each time seems a bit strange to me. Has anyone else had a home birth and if so did you have different midwives for the birth or did you have one that you knew?
  13. Hi, I've got my parents coming over from Australia this year and they're travelling around Europe aswell. While they're here with us they can use our internet but when they travel in Europe they would like to have access to the internet wherever and whenever they want and not just when they stop at a hotel with internet access or from an internet cafe. Does anyone know if this is possible and how to do it? I've tried looking on the net but all i can find is the mobile broadband usb things that you plug in and get internet access but they seem to be only for the UK. It is something like this that my parents need but for the whole of Europe....they're here for awhile and plan loads of travelling. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  14. I use your products and am available on wednesday and friday anytime. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday i'm available in the mornings.
  15. I charge £20 per home. Thats on an average 2-3 bedroom house and just a clean. If any ironing needs doing it's an extra £10.
