I have just donated pint number 26. During this time, both my mum and grandma received blood from donors, so I feel I have given something back on their behalf. And yes, Truman, the coffee and biscuits are good too

I have a problem with 2010. I bought it with my new pc a couple of weeks ago, and while I was away this weekend my OH said yes to download an update for it. As a result we have completely lost Office. It won't repair itself in the control panel either. Come back 2003 all is forgiven!

why are u banned from deli .....
Because I protested against the Deli becoming a pizza place and opening until 11pm. I had the audacity to write to the council about my concerns, then stand outside the shop when the Sheffield Star came to talk to people about it. Mr Khan (owner) accused us all of being racist and banned us all from the late shopper. As he also owns the Deli building then I assume I am banned from there too.
I've never been there but I've heard the sandwiches aren't up to much so I'm not missing out.

Hi Kirsty, I had a combi boiler fitted about 5 months ago by City Wide heating services (07971 333023). Dan and Andy are ex BG workers and they did an excellent job at a fraction of the cost of BG. Not sure if they would accept payment by installment but they are worth giving a call.

Just noticed that Little Scoffs has re-opened under new management. I hope they do half decent sandwiches because if they do, they will have my custom as I am banned from the Deli!!!!
-
Its a shame that they seem to have thrown the towel in.

I wouldn't recommend using the of at all because you still run the rusk of the CPU overheating regardless of what your doing (ok the risk is lower the less you do, but it's still a risk) and if it gets to a certain point it could just give up then cost of repair will be far more than a tenner or so!
Aaargh!! Logging off now. Part ordered so will shut down till I get it. Thanks Steeve and Ghozer.

Steev,
Thanks for your reply - I think you are spot on. When I checked my CPU usage during a BB game it went to maximum. Can't get the side off the pc and still have it connected so I think I will go and get a new fan on Monday.
My brother build the pc a few years ago so I will contact him re the motherboard/processor type.
Thanks for your help. Think I will stay off BB until it's sorted.

It's driving me nuts. Everything was fine until a week or two ago, when after around 5 games the pc started to sound an alarm (it's not the game sound as I have no sound on my computer), which wouldn't go off until I closed the computer down.
It's now got to the stage where it sounds during the first game. I've never heard the alarm before, and I don't think the pc is overheating or anything like that because it only ever happens when I'm on the facebook version of BB.
Any suggestions as to what I could do about it would be great.

There is a box warehouse on Thomson Hill at High Green across from the medical centre. I paid 50p a box and they are a decent size. Similar boxes in Staples would have been something stupid like £7 for 3.

136 warminster rd was and still is a residential unit for adults with learning disabilities. It was opened in 1977. I know that because I worked there for 13 years. The lees was the elderly unit and number 154 was the bungalow within the grounds of the lees. 154 was a day service for adults with learning disabilities during the late 1980's and throughout the 1990's.

I'm told there was something on Hallam news about a stabbing in Wincobank tonight? Third hand news not the best, but apparently was on Hallam.
I think that will be the stabbing that happened yesterday on Heather Road (?). There's a thread on here somewhere.

hi hello i walk all over the place
Are you concerned for your safety makeme?
I walk along the school path almost every day (today included) and there is no evidence of police tape or anything, and certainly no police around so it makes me wonder if none of it is true.

I got a really good deal at that little tile shop at the bottom of Rutland Road. It's on a side street near Wickes.

I've just heard from a fellow dog walker that there has been another attack on a woman in the area. It apparently happened yesterday, on the path running between Hinde House school and Shiregreen cemetary.
The dog walker could give no more details, ie description of the attacker, time it happened etc. I have checked the forum and star but can find nothing about it. It could just be a complete fabrication.
Even if this is untrue, I would like to reiterate that women should not be walking alone in this area until the Jenkin Road attacker is caught.

Yes we lost ours around 8.30-9pm-ish. It still hadn't returned by 11 so I switched the pc off. It's ok now.

My son's xbox has started freezing just aftewr start up, regardless of the game that is in. As a test, we unplugged the wired 'live' lead connected to mywireless router and the damn thing works. So..... he can play his games but can't go online to play them. Any suggestions why this would be????

If I'd have been his teacher I'd have sent the letter back marked with an A*.
It was a real slog at that time trying to persuade him that homework was for his benefit (he's 12 now and 100 times worse). I didn't make him do the homework that week as it was much less than the letter he had written.
-
I remember my son (then 5 or 6 years old,) writing a letter of complaint to his teacher about having to do homework. He told her he didn't think it was fair and his younger brother (then 2ish) got to play and have all the fun.
His teacher sent him a lovely reply, saying the government tell her she has to set homework, but it's up to Mummy and Daddy whether they make him do it!

Hi all - been an avid SF viewer for a good few months now so I thought I would join in the fun...especially so as I am currently doing up my terrace property in Walkley (first time buyer).
We have had quite a bit done so far (re-wire, new bathroom etc) but to add to it all our boiler packed up a couple of days ago.
We have had our first quote to supply and fit a new boiler (combi) and to have it replaced onto a different wall in our kitchen. Current pipe work and rads all ok - quote is for a Worcester Bosch unit. Came in at £1700.
To the experts on here, does this sound reasonable?
Will be looking to get another couple of quotes before deciding who to go with so any further recommendations would be great.
First post done - hurrah!
Steve
Steve, I have noticed that City Wide have commented on your post. Dan and Andy replaced my clapped out Gloworm boiler a couple of weeks ago and I would highly recommend them. They turned up when they said they would, and completed the job within the day so we weren't without heating.
They were efficient and did a great job for a great price. I'm always wary of getting people I don't know to do big jobs for me and always go with recommendations from others. These lads were spot on!
Recommend me a book,please

Without Alice by DJ Kirkby http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/0953317269/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1 was unlike any book I have read - I really enjoyed it. It isn't out on general sale yet (but is available via the Punked books website).
