  1. That's great Nigel, thank you for taking the time out to reply. It makes a lot of sense. We have been digging the garden to put up a fence and it's concrete under a couple of inches of soil so that explains why. As for the tunnel and the stream, I went and had a look at the other side of ladycroft and you're totally right. Thanks again for your help.
  2. I'm just wondering if anyone can shed any light on what was here before the property I live I was built. It's a small bungalow between the black bull and the old post office on St Mary's Lane. Also if anybody knows what the tunnel down our garden banking is? Thanks in advance.
  3. Same here. I'm even allergic to microporous tape and the adhesive on the ECG scan pads! Antihistamines and avoid in future if possible.
  4. Yes I had it removed laparoscopically. I was diagnosed with sphincter of oddi dysfunction and had a stent fitted. Nothing helped. I've had numerous tests since and finally been diagnosed with "post cholecystectomy syndrome" which basically is an umbrella description of any problems after surgery. I was told I would have to face facts and put up with it as they could do no more to help me. I'm kind of getting used to it, but was only 23 at the time, so the thought of that pain for the rest of my life was quite daunting. I am told it's pretty rare though, so it's not likely to happen to you guys. I hope you get respite from the pain soon. I can't even describe it, it's horrendous and I have a good pain threshold.
  5. I feel for anyone waiting for it. I had a long six month wait, in a&e several times a week on morphine, pancreatitis and generally feeling awful. Even though I had no food at times, I was still in agony. So I think the "no/low fat" diet works for some but not all. I still have attacks now, 7 years later. The main things that set me off are cucumber and tomatoes weirdly enough!
  6. I remember going to something similar at Kelham Island also.
  7. I go there everyday because I work there. I've worked there 6 years and never seen anything that would make me think it's a "no go area" Usually the ones who are sensationalising the situation, are the ones without first hand experience!
  8. I agree, he is an absolute diamond. I think he is more entitled to a star on Sheffields Walk of fame than most, but unfortunately the criteria is that the nominee should be recognised at National or international level. It might be still worth setting up a scheme for nominations for him, as we did with the Olympic Torch bearer scheme? If enough people nominate him, the powers that be may take notice?
  9. It doesn't sound like your dentist is incompetent, it sounds like you need a root canal. This is because the decay has reached the nerve of the tooth and sometimes a dentist will try to put a filling in and hope for the patients sake it will settle without root canal treatment being needed. Pain after the filling would indicate that you won't get away with just a big filling, but will have to have the nerves removed and the roots filled (Root canal) This is not the Dentists fault. It's because your tooth is in fact so badly decayed I'm afraid.
  10. Oh thank god. Her poor mum must be a wreck. Main thing is, she's home safe with her family. Nothing else matters for now. Well done to everyone who helped find her, however you did it!
  11. Her mums post on Facebook said she had been bullied at school. Poor girl. I hope she's found soon. It's cold out there tonight.
  12. Yes. Walkley dental practice. We are taking new NHS patients on currently. 01142335332.
  13. They've been all over walkley all day. Alleged sexual assault last night in crookes valley park. Very sad if it's true, poor girl.
  14. All I can see is police cars. An ambulance went towards hillsborough about half an hour ago with a red micra following.
  15. Loxley road. Road block starts end of Hanson road.
  16. Yeah just all the cars. All the police will say is that it's an "accident"
  17. Too many responders out I think. Police dogs, several ambulances and police cars going up but not coming back down. Also the helicopters hovering. Total road block in place.
  18. There outside my house and I'm wondering the same. Looks bad whatever it is!
