Hi, can't see any previous posts on this subject. I have an old cast iron bath in my house and about to do up the bathroom, quite keen to keep the bath - lovely shape and very deep - but its in a poor sate with a very tarnished/scruffy surface (it was in the house when I moved in last year).. any views on whether it would be worth keep and getting the bath resurfaced.. and any recommendations of firms that do this kind of work in the Sheffield area, Thanks

In 1984 the tories under thatcher came for the miners... despite a year long struggle the battle was lost - we lost the coal industry, thousands lost their jobs and whole communities have had to rebuild their lives... In 2011 the same tories, disgracefully with the full support of the liberal democrats are coming in for the kill for public sector services and workers, wrapped up and warped with their lies and propaganda ... ie people in the Public Sector are bad, get paid too much money, all get huge pensions, are lazy, etc, etc...Government legislation is going through parliament that will forever change the face of public services - the NHS, Council Services... Under another lie that local charities and voluntary groups will be in a position to provide these services ??? what this means in reality is that private companies will provide any services that are left - they will be provided badly at more costs and primary aim will be to make profits for the company owners. We had public outcry about selling off the forests to private companies - local celebs upset about possible closure of Graves Gallery - these are just the tip of the iceberg. Are people not angry about selling off hospitals, GPs, services for the elderly, running of parks for private profit. Where are the voices of opposition, why are the Labour Party being so quiet ?

as a long term resident of Burngreave I really don't accept some of these negative views of the area.. the place has really changed for the better over the last few years ... some fantastic houses, a lovely, lively and vibrant multi-cultural community, great ethnic food shops, fab ( and great value) eating places... but if you are happy to miss out because of a few nasty headlines in the media or bigoted views of a few.. then that's your loss

This is a sad day for Sheffield. The LibDems have said they are going to take money from the poorer areas of Sheffield to more affluent areas. I could cry, I have many criticisms of the Labour Party, but the answer is not to put a LibDem in control - can no-one remember the previous experience of their control of Sheffield City Council.

Thing that annoyed me was they approached at least one group (of older people) I know of, who got all excited about being part of the programme and then the Directors/Producers changed their minds ...letting the group down...
