  1. Are the Thursday night pad sessions till on? I had a quick drive down to the business park area where this is and couldn't find a way into the area? I turned in off Mortemley Rd? It looked like the road in was barricaded shut after office hours or something.
  2. Hmmmm, not sure you all big it up much. Thanks for the honesty, that sort of animal I can deal with...... My sceptical fiancee on the other hand…
  3. Are there any bengal owners out there? Just wondering if anyone can share their own experiences with the breed regarding behaviours and general temperament. Also, are there any reputable breeders within or near to Sheffield? Cheers!
  4. I know this is a bit of a thread hijack. Just wondering what the differences were in say techniques taught at a pure Thai boxing class such as Wicker and Kickboxing as offered by Chefkickers class? I don't mean in terms of effectiveness or anything like that. Do they both kick with shins etc?
  5. Hi all, A few of my friends have been encouraging me to try some golf. I only know the basic rules of golf but have never actually physically played it. Where would I start to get a feel for the game before actually attempting a course. If I enjoy it I plan to take up some lessons, but I think what I am after is something like a taster of golf. Thought about a driving range, but that is only one aspect isn't it? Cheers in advance! Drew
  6. Cheers! Hopefully I'll be able to pop down on Monday to try out the kickboxing. Providing I get out of work on time anyways!
  7. Hi all, Quick question in regards to Kapap. Is it £5 a lesson or £5 for the evening? I.e. Personal protection and body conditioning for £10 on a friday or £5 all in? Cheers.
  8. Sorry for the hijack, but does anyone know of anywhere to lock my bike up in hillsborough. Preferably near the leppings lane tramstop (or other nearby tram stop). I live Near Jct 35 and am soon starting a job near the Hallamshire Hospital. I don't fancy cycling all the way there with all the busy traffic down the A61 and was planning on going part of the way and then traming it.
  9. aye. Thanks for all the advice. The idea has been shelved for now. Maybe one day my work/life arrangements will change. Eg. Gf on maternity leave/part time etc. Cheers anyways.
  10. On a side note - are there any dog friendly places to eat in Sheffield that come highly recommended? Somebody at work was asking.
  11. Thanks folks - as I said I wasn't optimistic about it. It is a shame though as I am more than willing to put the care in that is required. Bloody employment has to spoil it all doesn't it ? I thought about a cat as I used to have one when I was little (sadly it passed away last year). However, I have always wanted a dog after we used to look after a family friends over the summer when I was young. The companionship a dog can offer really appeals to me, but at the same time I wouldn't want to be a half arsed owner. Looks like I am going to have to wait until: 1. I get my GF preggers and she has maternity leave etc (that would require a fair amount of persuasion I imagine!!). 2. Win the rollover jackpot so i can retire at the age of 27 and look after my newly bought dog! I think number two has the highest chance of success! Cheers folks!
  12. It's not looking hopeful is it . I wasn't really that optimistic. Bringing it to work isn't an option as we both work in a hospital!! In regards to doggy day care and confusing the dog as to who the owner is. Does this happen with baby day care !!!
  13. 8.30-5 but in mornings and evenings it takes half an hour to get to work/home. Dinner times are quiet.
  14. Hi All, I have been thinking about the feasibility of caring for a dog or puppy. I have a few ideas on what breeds I like (but I have yet to really consider their temperamnet etc). My concern is how to care for a dog/puppy if myself and partner both have full time jobs. Unfortunately, I don't think I know anyone who could visit them during the days we are working. For the most part I work 5 days a week and my partner 4 days. At the moment I am able to pop home during lunch breaks, but in August I move jobs where I wouldn't be able to get there and back again in time. I know that a dog (even more so when it is a puppy) needs a great deal of care and attention. Is there any way I could make this work without subjecting the poor thing to boredom and cruelty? One thing I would consider is some kind of day care centre - but in this case feasibility in regards to finance becomes a slight issue. Or am I never going to be able to keep a dog in my current circumstances ? I have had a look online and through these forums - Please don't cast me down for my lack of research etc. Before I start really getting my hopes up etc I would like to know even if I could do it in the first place! Cheers for any advice.
  15. Hi all, I know there are a few posts about this already. The last one I could find was from June this year. I am a bit portly (but working on it....trying to anyways seeing as it is Xmas!). Both sites are accessible to me and my girlfriend, but I was hoping for some general views on either for lessons. I dabbled in a spot of bouldering at the Sheff Uni gym and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, work got in the way and I couldn't go anymore! So this time, I am aiming to take on some lessons on wall climbing as appossed to just bouldering. Does anyone have any experience of each clubs beginner courses? Are they spacious, over subscribed? Any hidden costs etc etc. Thanks in advance folks
