  6. Ok I'm studying to become a contemporary voice coach/singing teacher and I qualify in July. It's a career change for me at 40. Part of my studies involve practice teaching as I learn technique, warm-ups etc. Is anyone up for two or three free lessons as I study? I have 20 years experience in contemporary singing, I have a fully equipped studio in S6, and I'm preferably looking for a bloke as I can relate registers better with myself at this time..... Drop me a PM if interested. Cheers
  7. Recorded last week at G2's new 'pig farm' studio. Awesome awesome awesome. John and Paul really know their stuff. The studio is UBER professional. Very very happy.
  8. Google 'free range human' and fit your whatever you want your 'job' to be, around your life.... .
  9. Dont do plastering. Its a dying trade. Too many numpties have jumped on the bandwagon. No one wants floating (undercoat) anymore, and the joiners have stolen plasterboarding. Its hard trying to find work! .
  10. It all depends on how far you want to go. I charge a day rate, so the quicker we can record ie. how well rehearsed, knowing exactly what you want etc. the cheaper the price. If it takes half a day I'll only charge half a day...which could be as little as £40 http://www.spreadercraig.com Cheers
  11. No worries matey. I'll look forward to it, thanks
  12. Now my vocal booth is complete I'm ready to Rock and Roll..... My budget studio is available for pub/club acts, duo's, musicians or anyone else. For more info and a list of gear and services have a neb cheers. http://www.spreadercraig.com
  13. ...I was gonna say contact a solicitor.....:-D
  14. No professional plasterer I know will strip wallpaper for you unless they are really needing the work. You would be better off stripping it then asking for a quote. At least then you can see what state the walls are in underneath. Good luck! .
  15. Sometimes yes, sometimes people will put up with rubbish just because the price is cheaper....and to save face I guess. .
  16. I didn't mention Polish, please don't put words in my mouth. I will always criticise shoddy work. Especially when its by amateurs who are taking the food out of real tradesmens childrens mouths. .
  17. Which workers are those then? The sponge finishers? Yep let them do the work. Like I said, the professionals can then charge people like you to rectify the rubbish when it falls off in a few years...or when it's painted and looks garbage. Happy days a'comin .
  18. You just can't learn it fast. It takes years. Markets flooded with useless 'skimmers' and 'coursers' who wanted to learn fast. People like me get to rectify their work! .
  19. Phone local plastering firms and see if they want labourers, then work your way up. Not sure what courses are available nowadays, but it used to need at least two years at college. PLEASE do not be taken in by these two, three or four day courses. They show people the VERY basics and leave them COMPLETELY unprepared for what the job entails, then they unleash them into the world thinking they are fully qualified. It's a trade that takes a LONG time to learn properly, and skimming is only a tiny tiny part of it. These skimmers and 'coursers' are finding less and less work, scratching at tenners on here, as the market is getting flooded with them. It's a very hard, dirty job that gets little respect....but good, established time served plasterers who know all aspects are busy. Good luck...if you're serious about it. .
  20. Sorry....my reply was to a completely different thread which has been deleted. I don't know why its been put here! .
  21. People shouldn't be fooled by cowboys? A lot of times they deserve it, as they go for 'cheap as chips' Larry who signs on. A big clue as to the confidence of these 'coursers' is in the price they quote. Quality tradesmen have YEARS of experience, and thats after two years of college or apprenticeships, not four days. I'm all for people trying to better themselves too, but do it right. It's insulting for a 'courser' to start advertising their services as a fully fledged plasterer when they know literally nothing about it. These so called 'skimmers' (because thats all they seem to do....and BADLY) have killed the trade for so many skilled tradesmen. No its not rocket science, but it does take years to learn properly. .
  22. No it wouldn't. probably around 20 houses it could have come from....but they were also saying it could have been someone passing. .
