  1. ThAnk you Andy this just what I needed but it doesn't mention anything about the pub it's self was it built by the cutler company or was it just named after it? History's a funny issue the more you dig the more questions you ask but I'm very gratful that you took some time out to find me these links
  2. What do you mean pal what makes you say that
  3. As iv grown up mate iv always known Pakistani restaurNts as Pakistani restaurants also I asked you how and what to you define as an reAl Indian restaurant? No need to get upset It's a shame that after al these year some people still don't know the diffrence and then people like you say it's not real Indian food it's not just India that just eats spicy food. dosanj was south Indian shapla is Bangladeshi and everest is Pakistani but who calls them Indians I don't! If you dont have this basic knowlage then how can you say this is fake and this is real?
  4. Has the pub always been ran by a family? Was the sen family the first people to open cutlers arms? Do you know
  5. Nope not at all just joining in the discussion and trying to make my point which you don't get so I ges I'm waisting my time
  6. There is a local football compertition for restaurants and takeaway get a good team to gether and play for cutlers spice =D u fancy that Dave.
  7. We are planning on stocking all sorts of beers including Jaipur
  8. I first went in that place when I was 17 never thought I'd be running the place one day that odd bit in the back is going to be party room for VIPs you will have to come and have alook when it's done it will look fab iv designed it myself il look after that pub it's a place I plan to grow old and gray in it's a dream come true for me I'm well excited I'm never going to let it close again and the name will stay from what boss has been saying you fancy doing the website =D
  9. Sorry ment people like you! Trying to type off my phone is not so easy
  10. Real Indian? who made Indian restaurants what they are now? It's the Bengali community 12000 Indian restaurants in the uk nearly 10000 are ran or owned by Bengali community and every one complains that theres no real Indian? Well how do u define as real Indian al over India food is diff so how can you this is real Indian and this isn't from wot u seen on tv? Go India go to each different state and you will understand then I doubt you can tell the diffrence between Indian Bengali or Pakistani food? Becose except the recipes the ingredients are exactly the same in India bangladesh and Pakistan also if u look at the sign of a restaurant now adays most of them say Bangladeshi or Kashmiri restaurant but you people still call them Indian then say it's not real? Why?
  11. One of our customers came up with cutlers spice boss likes the name think he might go for that unless someone comes up with something better the cutlers might confuse people as they might think it's still a pub wouldn't want to upset them by giveing them the wrong idea lol
  12. Sorry it won't we have no experience in running pubs. We are turning it into a Bangladeshi/Indian restaurant our boss is spending nearly half a million on buying the place freehold and revamping the place once we are up and running and got a feel of the business we might make the bar area bigger so people can come and just have a drink but don't hold me to that as we dont have any experience running a pub or a bar we might not restaurant wise we know what we are doing
  13. So the cutlers arms is named after sheffield becouse of the cutlery Sheffield used to make? So the name is liked to sheffields history? It's a nice name it would be a shame to change it? Think I might use the name!
  14. I agree it's up to the customers to make the change I'm just going to try and be the bridge in the middle and if I'm successful then others will follow I can only do so much in trying to change the curry trade in Sheffield I can't dig a grave for myself I'm sure that's how most of the restauranturs think I'm not a famous chef or a millionair that I can afford to take a loss in any of my business just a average person who's got a dream bigger then his wallet after joining this forum iv found alot if people wanting authentic food but in real life how many will Oder of my tridishnal menu? We will find out soon enough I could do it but if people don't Oder it how long can I afford to keep that menu going or even worst how long can I keep my doors open? That's how alot of restauranturs feel and are scered to go down that path I sure am for them to make the change the fear has to go first and to get rid of the fear someone has to make the change and succeed and be busy I don't mean for a month or to but atleast 2 years. If it works don't forget me guys if it don't no one will even remember I exsisted lol look forward to seeing you there
  15. Akbars agrah all say they are Kashmiri restaurants but every one still calls them Indian I could bash my head against the wall and shout and screem that my restaurant is a Bangladeshi restaurant people will still call it an Indian? The curry mile has never been anything special it's exactly same as Sheffield restaurant so is Leeds and Bradford same dishes just different chefs adding there little twists il never follow the exampals of places like that London yes chefs over there are more creative! Young blood wanting to stand out that's what's happening in Sheffield now in the next 5 years restaurants in Manchester Leeds Bradford will follow the example Sheffield will set that's my gole
  16. That's not true neve been closed for rats as u put it and it's got new owners in the landlord kicked them murders out soon as he found out I should know I'm the landlord lol
  17. Bradford Leeds Manchester all overrated and full of hype if your talking about the standards of food London can't be beaten
  18. Hi all iv recently taken over the cutlers arms pub on gleadless I wanted to find out the history of the place e.g why was it called cutlers? How long has it been a pub? What is the meaning of cutlers? Any information you have will be appreciated thanks.
  19. And yes most owners of Indian restaurants in sheffield are from a different country it's called Bangladesh just like most owners of Indian restaurants in Manchester are from a different country witch is called Pakistan I'm aware of that I'm sure you are too
  20. I don't see why every one raves about manchester bradford it's all hype the curry houses don't do anything diff from Sheffield even on the curry mile have u seen the state of some reStaurNts on the curry mile if they was in Sheffield health And safety would have shut them down by now bradford hAs 1 major one that is mamtaz and Manchester hAs nawaabs well I'm sure the people have seen whAt nwaabs foods like since they came hear (I think they will be the first to go) And mamtaz made there name from the packeaged foods they do not the restaurant it's self so again it's all hype to me now restaurants in London set standards and that's the standards I want and set
  21. We won't be doing a delivery service from this place wAnt to run it like a proper restaurant good idea but some dishes we would not ba able to do that for as it's a mild dish or a hot dish so it would depend on what dish they have
