  1. Hi To register your Grandparents you need to follow this link; http://www.sheffieldct.co.uk/individual_registration.htm Regards
  2. Sheffield Community Transport buses are running. The Door 2 Door services have been cancelled. But SCT is attempting to get Shopper Services out. Updates will come when available.
  3. You can call Sheffield Community Transport on 01142766148 and ask for Ian Jenkinson. We have a fully accessible Vauxhall Vivaro that we hire out to people.
  4. PCV drivers need to complete their training by Monday 9th September otherwise they will lose professional status. I'm a PCV CPC trainer for Sheffield Community Transport but we ran our last course yesterday. I spoke to Nigel Smiths son today from TAL and he told me they were not doing anymore courses but give him a ring. You could try GTA in Doncaster as they might be running some and also the PTE training academy may have some spaces a available this week. Give me a ring tomorrow on 01142766148 to see if I could help you anymore.
  5. I am the training co-ordinator for SCT and we do deliver training to D1 standard, our prices are very competitive, please feel free to contact me on 01142766148.
  6. Does anyone know what the film crew based in Wickes car park on Rutland Road are doing?
  7. Hi all My partner is wanting to join a mother and baby group with our 4 month old son based in the town centre or there abouts. She has tried Jellytots on Chapel Walk but that is due to close down in the near future. Any suggestions would be really appreciated. Also we have heard about music groups for babies and toddlers and we are very interested in joining one of these, we would really appreciate any help anyone can give us. Thanks
  8. Does anyone know what has happened on Herries Road? Police have closed it from the junction of Wordsworth Avenue all the way to Penistone Road.
  9. Hopefully the want list will become a can do list. But it helps to know what is wanted and needed.
  10. So this survey concludes that public transport in Sheffield is perfect.
  11. Within your area do you have a bus service that serves all of your local amenities i.e. doctors, dentist, shopping areas, church, sports centres and everything else that people may visit on a daily basis. If not do you think that your area would benefit from such a service? If so repost your area or areas that you think would be popular any any reasons why. Any region within the South Yorkshire area would be appreciated.
  12. Thanks everyone, a friend fitted the battery for me so dont think halfords could help. Thanks CheekyChains, it is a 2003 model Vectra SRI, it would be very appreciated if you could help. I had to travel to the in laws over the weekend and the small talk was unbearable ha ha.
  13. I bought it second hand and seem to have everything including all the service history but cannot find the car pass or any info.
  14. After breaking down on Thursday night the recovery guy told me thsat my battery was running at 25% and I needed a new one, fince I thought so I toddled off to halfords and bought a brand new battery which set me back £90. Not what I wanted a week before Christmas but it was a necessity. Unfortunately I haven't got the key code for the radio which kicked in when the battery was disconnected. I went to Vauxhall to get this and I was told it would cost me a further £24 to get this, £24 to get a number off a database what a rip off and for my own radio code. This is day light robbery and I would rather buy a new radio at a much higher cost simply out of principle. I would prefer not to do this and would appreciate it if anyone knew of how I could retrieve this code for a nominal fee. Merry christmas Sheffielders.
  15. I went into town last night for the first time since the christmas lights were turned on and I have to say what a pathetic attempt at Christmas lights and decorations the council have lumbered us with this year. I used to love doing my shopping around town as the atmosphere was brilliant, especially last year with the market in the peace gardens but this year it seems a big let down. Worst of all is that pathetic excuse for a chrismas tree outside the town hall, it looks like a huge bush with lights on it, forgive me but are christmas trees traditionally a pyramid shape????? This year we all could have done with a bit of Christmas cheer but oh no not in Sheffield. Come on council we are all suffering from job losses, wage freezes, pension reductions. We are doing more work for less money and having to pay out more but please dont take Christmas away from us to.
  16. Does anybody know where I can find a Christmas Garland around the town centre?
  17. Does anyone know if the market and ice rink are returning to the peace gardens this year. It was a lovely addition to the town centre last year and I hope that the council intends to do it again.
  18. WHatever happened to Darth Vader being dressed in a green leotard telling children the green cross code or am I just showing my age now.
  19. Glossop Rd has been closed in both directions between Newbold Lane and the Hallamshire Hospital. The pavement on the King Edwards side of the road has collapsed and taken the wall with it and the road has cracked all the way across. It is going to be mayhem tonight around there, so pleased the Mrs is working at the Northern tonight.
  20. I am a DSA approved driving instructor and what he is doing is illegal. As you are the learner he is the person in control of the car and what he is doing is no different to driving and texting. You are paying for his time and he should have absolute attention on you. We have to sign up to a promise of giving value for money and he most certainly does not sound to be giving that.
  21. I want the best looking finish with the least amount of work.
  22. I am decorating my living room and have original skirting boards and picture rails, the house is 120 years old. I need advice on whether to paint them in gloss or satin paint.
