  1. Oh is that so.... Perhaps you can both tell me why you support and wax lyrical about the likes of Boris Johnson and Jacob Rees Mogg for leadership roles, both of whom studied the Classics at University, and would've had to read lots of literature and myths of the ancient world. Presumably you don't think they're 'normal people'. So what does that say about the pair of you who disparage someone for doing something which your leaders did?
  2. I've no idea if she's been promised anything, or wants anything....She's got an OBE from her previous party, and from what I hear, is not standing at the next election. From what I've read this evening on Conservative blogs, the 2 explanations for her defection are: She has never forgiven Sunak for what she believes is his betrayal of Boris Johnson. The other reason, is that apparently she's a campaigner on housing issues & homelessness, and is unhappy with her party's lack of progress in this area. In terms of the Labour Party this has been tweeted: However, Starmer does have his own party to manage, and many will see him welcoming Elphicke, but keeping the door shut on Diane Abbott from re joining the Labour Party. That could cost him a lot more in the longer term.
  3. You should try reading outside of what you normally do, you never know, you might make more valuable contributions to conversations.
  4. I was doing some reading the other day and I came across an old Turkish proverb: "The forest was shrinking but the trees kept voting for the axe, for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood he was one of them.” I did wonder if the poster previously known as West77 named himself after the axe in this proverb. But then I thought no, can't have done - the axe in the proverb was clever, unlike the axe that post on here.
  5. Quoted for truth. A spot on post. Hmmm. I must remember that when you make your sly digs at gay or trans people.
  6. Ha ha ha. Given that he turned to up to vote last week without the correct voter ID, Bozo doesn't understand democracy, even under the rules which he pushed through Parliament! What a plonker. Even Jacob Rees Mogg admitted that that the legislation to require voter ID was a shameless attempt by the Tories to rig the election in their favour. Anyway it didn't work because the Tories were trounced last week. Just like they're gonna be trounced at the General Election. So you keep having your fantasies about Boris being the great democrat, while not knowing the rules of the democracy which he allegedly led. The rest of us will just laugh.
  7. Axe: "Keir Starmer is unfit to be a UK prime minister." Hmm and not so long ago you started a thread calling for Bojo to come back and be PM. So your judgement about who is fit to be PM is deeply flawed.
  8. I've not been keeping count but I reckon that "stonking majority" of 80 MPs which the Tory Party won in 2019, must be halved by now. I wonder if that's a record number of losses of MPs from a political party in one Parliament. "World beating" as someone might say
  9. "He thought", are you sure? This is Lee Anderson we're talking about 😂
  10. There was talk last week of 2 defectors. If Natalie Elphicke was one, who is the other??? Come along Axe, you know the Tory Party well; who do you think is sat on the back benches hoping to stick it to Sunak?
  11. Anyway, not so long ago you were telling everyone on here that you're a Christian, and this is a Christian country. What happened to that biblical phrase about "there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who have no need of repentance."? Or do you only quote the bible when it conforms to your prejudices?
  12. I don't remember you complaining that Lee Anderson defected from Labour to the Tories? But then, the over riding image of Elphicke sitting behind Starmer is to plant in viewer's minds that the Conservative government are falling to pieces
  13. What is - Your inability to post an image on here which people can see?
  14. I think the point of Elphicke jumping ship was less to with the opinions of the party she was jumping to, and more to do with the party she was jumping from.
