what do you put in your picnic basket? Do you do the same old cheese sandwiches a kit kat and a drink or do you have a hamper of luxuries (sp)?

In our picnic basket we have varying things -

sandwiches
tortilla wraps (ham, chicken, cheese etc)
german potato salad
german noodle salad
chicken legs
scnitzels
frikadelen
pasta salads
pork pies
sausage rolls
Homemade pies or pasties
crisps

basically depends on my enthusiasm that day.

So whats in your hamper I need new ideas.

Me too:hihi:

If it's just me and OH, we'l take things like cucumber sticks, crisps, and some kind of dip, hummous or similar.

Nice rolls and a couple of different types of cheese, and quorn ham slices to make up our own sandwiches when we get there.

Last time we had a pot of cream and a punnet of strawberries, which was yummy.

Oooh and veggie scotch eggs, which I have a passion for! The tortilla wraps are a great idea:thumbsup:

The best picnic I ever had was an impromptu affair so we had no time to prepare...we got a ready roasted chicken and some couscous with veg from the CO-OP plus some pomegranite juice. Then we ate it with our fingers, and drank the juice (sometimes passing it between our mouths)

It felt natural and vibrant and exciting, the picnic wasn't bad either
