Cargo
Circus Tour – Sheffield Friday 24th November 2006 9pm till Late DQ Sheffield Fitzwilliam Street http://www.dqsheffield.com Tel: 0114 2211668 Featuring : Yousef Justin Long With support from Kristoph / Kassien One of the country's most exciting events makes its long awaited debut in Sheffield. Circus a night now synonymous with quality house music of every genre touches down in Sheffield for what promises to be the first of many regular parties at Sheffield's latest jewel in the late night entertainment crown…DQ. Yousef is without a doubt one of UK's best DJs. Bursting onto the scene in the late 90's he subsequently took the Muzik's Best Breakthough DJ 2004 award. The awards and plaudits have come thick and fast since. Perhaps this is because he is a phenomenon upon himself. As a DJ, his sleazy, jackin house sound has rocked the party at some of the best venues around the world. Having completed his most successful season in Ibiza so far playing for the likes of Pacha, Manumission, Dusted and of course his personal favourite Carl Cox's Global Sessions at Space, which won 'Best Club Night' at this year's DJ Awards, this man is seriously on fire. As a producer he is admired and revered by some industry heavyweights like Pete Tong and Nic Fanciulli. Check out his latest offering Spooky/ The Approach EP (out on CR2) or his amazing Rennaisance mix CD for a snapshot of what he is about. It is a testament to the man himself that he now headlines clubs alongside the very heroes that spurred him to pick up the 1's and 2's…Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Roger Sanchez and DJ Sneak amongst others. Since 2002 Circus has entertained capacity audiences at its spiritual home Masque in Liverpool as well as hosting its own arena at Creamfields for many years running and delivering kick ass parties at the Miami Winter Conference! It is no surprise then that this debut event in Sheffield is going to be big news….no least because Yousef will be bringing along one of the finest DJs to come out of the other side of the pond – Justin Long hailing all the way from Chi-Town USA! Justin Long is a pioneer of the Chicago house scene. As a DJ and producer this ever youthful fella has made waves from very early on and like Yousef now considers his early heroes like Derrick Carter and Cajmere not only as his peers but also ardent admirers. In the last two years both as a member of Chicago's 'No Assemble Firm' and also as label boss of .dotbleep, Justin has been responsible for some seriously choice cuts that has caused dancefloor destruction the world over. A firm favourite at Back to Basics, Sub Club Fabric and of course Circus he best encapsulates some of the current sounds of Circus thus making it the best possible addition to this already amazing event. Solid and reliable support comes like a choo-choo train of house music from two of Sheffield's emerging talents – Kristoph and Kassien Kristoph is already making waves of his own as a DJ and producer. His latest offering Twitch out on Slave Recordings is gaining huge support from all corners…funnily enough one of its biggest fans is Yousef himself who swears by this monster tune for every set he plays. Kristoph is resident for both Slave's nights as well as the formidable Pin-Up which has seen him play alongside some of the industries biggest hitters. The deadly but dynamic duo Kassien (James Maplebeck and Mark Reed) are unwavering champions of the minimal and tech house scene. Through their increasingly popular night Cargo, Kassien have been built themselves an army of fans and admirers alike. Nights like this do not come often so if you, like us, love great nights out with great house music, brilliant DJs in one of Sheffield's best venues then this is a MUST for you. Limited advance tickets only £6 available from Monday 6th November from Saki's, DQ.
