lindylou53 Â Â 18 #1 Posted November 26, 2023 Went out into Bradfield to look for Northern Lights last night. No joy but did see a weird phenomenon I've not seen before. It was a large hazy circle of cloud surrounding the moon. Thought it might have been a moon bow but doesn't seem to fit the description properly. Couldn't see any colour in it and moon bows are not near the moon apparently and only occur when raining which it wasn't. Assume it must be to do with freezing conditions. Any ideas anyone? Annie Bynnol   613 #2 Posted November 26, 2023 (edited) Ice halo or Moon halo. Refraction caused by fine ice crystals. As in a rainbow darker areas appear within. Edited November 26, 2023 by Annie Bynnol
 Share this content via...
