H.O.D. Â Â 10 #5 Posted June 28, 2006 Its got nothing to do with locks on the door. If you rent a room, watch TV in that room and have no relationship with your landlord, you must have a seperate TV licence.
 Share this content via...

neeeeeeeeeek   10 #7 Posted June 28, 2006 Don't worry about it. As long as the property has one they don't generally hassle you. Technically you should have more that one as mentioned but I think they have enough to do hassling people that don't have any. H.O.D.   10 #9 Posted June 28, 2006 What if the landlord is already paying a tv license for that peoperty  Even if the landlord is already paying a tv license, you need to buy one. Even if the landlord supplied the TV, you need to have your own licence. It sucks, I know, but that's just the way it is!  http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/information/landlords.jsp  It's all very well people telling you not to bother, but it's not them who will be landed with a fine... H.O.D. Â Â 10 #10 Posted June 28, 2006 Dont bother. If they knock at the door tell them you only watch Sky. Â It doesn't matter if you only watch Sky, ITV, DVDs or pay per view porn. If you have a television or a TV tuner card you have to have a licence.
 Share this content via...
joeyannie   10 #11 Posted June 28, 2006 thats shocking! one per room in a shared house is extortion... i think it should be the property that has the licence and once it is in place it covers as many tv's within the property as you want. (obviously 1 for each flat in a block of flats though) The amount of crap that is aired by the bbc, along with the fact that part of my licence fee goes to fund things I cant currently access (digital channels and radio) makes charging for multiple licences a joke.
