  1. great point, but there's no point puting a well-formed argument together...he doesn't listen....we all know where this one gets his education from! well i'm for an all-dayer in town, have fun
  2. clearly didn't say you can't do it mate, just commented that i thought it was quite sad. you are extremely consistent at grtting the wrong end of the stick on things
  3. I taught a kid who got 9 A*s at GCSE and 5 As at A level, parents extremely poor. he went to Durham uni paid for by your taxes, nows he's earning silly money in oil exploration. was he a scrounger? should he have been denied the opportunity to break out? ....oh and he was from Sheffield. Leave the right wing politics to the inteligient mate.
  4. i saw sum of it. children, elderly and the sick are all scroungers according to you. i think this thread was asked to be cut because your views are so outragous you're probably just winding people up.....nothing to do with the anti-sheffieldness of your thread. it is quite sad though isn't it, posting anti-sheffield views on a pro-sheffield site, simply whats the point? you're not going to change anyone's mind
  5. wrong. lots of important business activity is done in the 'square mile' but relatively little is contributed to the GDP. proabably true but not really surprising. Oxbridge students are scroungers too according to your argument. london is our capital city so clearly no, more importantly would london live how hey do without cities like sheffield? clearly we're not scroungers, its just economics. who complains about tax? londoners (quite rightly) are complaining about the extended congestion charges, we all (again quite rightly) complain about inheritence tax and the idea of being taxed per mile we drive is outragous. simple answer....privatise the NHS why do you think sheffield is an empty husk?
  6. how about answering a question for once?
  7. Animal welfare was not the reason why labour banned fox hunting, it was political. If labour were interested in animal welfare then they would make more of an effort to control the poor conditions animals were farmed, this would certainlt be a priroty before fox hunting. But this would have economic implications so labour didn't have the balls to touch it, so instead they thought they'd please their Sun reader followship and deal with the smaller problem of hunting with dogs. Imagine a country that made legislation for the correct reasons, not to please the empowered political parties followers
  8. 1. Don't trust anyone who bleeds for 4 days and doesn't die. 2. If lend a friend £20 and you never see that person again, consider that £20very well spent.
  9. assuming annual inflation of 5% (take into account house prices) then £50 thirty years ago is now worth £216.10 and £100 thirty years ago is now £432.19
  10. I think greed is the wrong word. Banks objectives are to make money for their shareholders, thats it. If they see this as a potential income stream fair play If a bank wants to charge people.....let them. Just take your business elsewhere.....its simple.
  11. no because the bus company would probably make a loss because the revenue from fares would probably less than the costs stupid thread
  12. The driver was speeding, the fact is if he was driving at the speed limit jim wouldn't have ended up on the pavement and therefore wouldn't have received the serious brain injuries.
