also bear in mind that you may be throwing good money after bad, even if you get the judgment that doesn't garentee that they will pay up, if they don't, then you will have to employ bailifs, and even that is no garantee you will get anything.

Yes, although registering a CCJ*  would probably stop the debtor obtaining credit later on.

[*- Of course, the Registry Trust Ltd listing is of unpaid CCJs. Once the debtor pays-ff the debt, the entry can be removed.]

We did a small claims court which cost I think £30.  Do it yourself online.

Listed out what had happened and provided screenshots of messages etc

Because it was under £500,  the court won't enforce so we just left it as he didn't pay.

Over £500 (I think) you can use the court bailiff service (which you pay for).

After almost a year, he popped up out of the blue wanting to pay ASAP and wanting proof that he had settled.

He had obviously gone somewhere that found the CCJ and knocked him back.

It was a very nice surprise...

Worth looking at as letters from CAB don't cut it with these people. They don't care.

Good result. It shows the main power of the CCJ Register.
