natonstan   10 #1 Posted February 13, 2017 Anyone on here work as a Sythe or Sickle smith, either at one of the works at Hackenthorpe, Ridgeway or anywhere in or around Sheffield, would love to hear your experiences/stories as my family going back to the 1600s worked a Sicklesmiths and setup the Staniforth Works at Hackenthorpe back in 1740. TimeBandit52 Â Â 10 #2 Posted February 13, 2017 Served my time as an apprentice welder at Tyzack sons and Turner, Little London Works. They had a sythe shop with a father and son riveting and finishing them, can't remember the family name but the son was called Alan. Best I can do !. Lord Lucan   10 #3 Posted February 14, 2017 There use to be a Sythe & Sickle maker at Ridgeway. Owned by the Clegg family. The son Michael went to live in Manilla and had girlie bars there. Now deceased
 Share this content via...
