Any Mac experts out there?

Recommended Posts

A spinning wheel usually implies that it is taking longer than it should to do something.

One possible explanation would be that the hard drive is failing and the OS is struggling to read from it.

Another possibility would be that the mac is heavily loaded. If you run activity monitor, you should see how hard it's working.

Could you post some more details. What triggers the spinning wheel? What Mac do you have? Macbook pro, air, iMac? and how old?

As unbeliever says, it needs a few more details. Does it do this with all programs, or just certain programs? Do you actively close down programs or leave them running in the background and never restart the machine?
