Solomon1
Hi everyone Finally made it to PC World and checked out the lappys. An Acer Chromebook was £219!!!!!! *13.3" screen *NIVIDIA Tegra 14 plus 1 quad *16 GB SSD *Built in antivirus So lightweight and luscious! BUT cannot download ANY software onto it - so would have to buy new printer... and might be compatibility issues with camera - would have to insert SD card each time - bit of a pain! No external compatible DVD drive What a shame - this could easily have been it! Anyone got any solutions to the DVD issue? Cheers Sol ---------- Post added 19-03-2015 at 18:33 ---------- Also - only one USB port Where can I charge my USB stuff? Where's my mouse and keyboard gonna go? lookleft
Recently purchased a Toshiba CB30 from John Lewis If you can solve the issue of DVD drive [not something I need] I can highly recommended this Chromebook and it has two USB3 ports. I use with a 32GB pen drive but you can also use an external hard drive too. You do not need an external keyboard but if you do not like using the touch pad then any wireless mouse can be used. Also, it comes with a two year guarantee.

Just realised I need to update my mp3 player via lappy aswell - think there might be a lot of restrictions on using a chromebook
tinfoilhat
Any reason why you are going down the chrome route rather than windows? My mate bought a Lenovo g50 for £229 from argos of all places. 15" screen, 4 gig ram, 500hdd DVD writer, and at least 3 USB ports. He's quite pleased with it. SSD so super fast! Don't know much about Lenovo...only found out about chrome today! Still a work in progress Edited March 19, 2015 by Solomon1

I purchased mine just over a week ago and have hardly used my laptop and haven't used my iPad at all. Sounds like you may be better of with a laptop.
