Phanerothyme   12 #14 Posted September 21, 2012 You can't buy glacial acetic acid without a visit from the police. It's the essential ingredient in converting morphine to heroin. However, you can buy "non-brewed condiment" which is white vinegar in the form of very dilute acetic acid. Better buy proper malt vinegar though, as it tastes so much nicer.  Hmm, my dad manages to every few years when it's time to pickle although he orders it through BDH rather than Boots. jaynie38 Â Â 10 #15 Posted April 27, 2013 Is the distilled malt vinegar (white) in the supermarkets, the white vinegar that you use for cleaning etc? It smells a bit too strong to be used for cleaning so not sure if I got the right thing?
 Share this content via...

happyaslarry   13 #17 Posted May 22, 2013 I suspect these 'vinegars' from fishmongers are really non brewed condiment, rubbish if you want to pickle, dubious for windows but OK for chips.
 Share this content via...
