Best place to sell beautiful handmade jewellery

Recommended Posts

I suppose it cant hurt to ask :) i wouldnt mind waiting as long as it wouldnt be like 12 months, if you have a website already complete that this lady has made you could pm it me so i could take a look ?

Out of interest how did you solve your problem ? did you find a good way to get your products out there ?

hi, my website will be ready in the next week or two so i'd be more than happy to show you then. Just waiting till I can get new pictures of everything as the ones I have atm aren't much good.

so far my problem remains, in a sense, unsolved. However I am hoping that by having a website I can solve the problem and find a way to get my products seen. I think she is also designing business cards for me to match the website.

You could try having a stall at Summer fayres and Galas etc.

If you look in the events section there is usually some on there asking for stallholders. One I can recommend is the Ecclesfield gala in Ecclesfield park on 2nd September, it is a large gala with a very large footfall and all proceeds from the stall rents goes to Macmillan Cancer charity.

Hi,

Try http://www.etsy.com its like eBay but posh/upmarket. A lot of handmade sellers sell their wares on here. I love it personally, I get great gifts for friends and family.

Thanks for the input guys. i think i am going to set up my own e-commerce website that i will integrate to Facebook,Twitter and eBay and also try hit a few markets to get the word and my business cards out there.

Does anyone know of a service in Sheffield that will take photos of my items ? I was thinking to take my jewellery to a place to get some really good professional looking pics done, i would only really need a digital copy and not a actual photo.

eba/amazon would definately be a good idea!

The problem with ebay is getting the views, i only had 8 views in 3 days! I did describe them quite well with keywords.

Not sure if you can see the images below.

Your best bet would be a photographer.

You might also get only a few visitors a day with your own e-commerce site. You will need to promote your site yourself or pay a SEO company to do so. The latter, along with the e-commerce site, can be pricey depending on what you want.

If it were me I would be trying out craft fayres, have a look on the Craft Interest Group, they're often advertised there. Not that you shouldn't have a website but a site might be something you want to think about later depending on your budget.

Thank you for your advice. I understand i will have to pay for some sort of advertising. The free ways will be including a business card or flyer with every item i sell on eBay and at carboots/fayres.

The e-commerce would only cost me $20 per month which i could cover that in only a few sales. The e-commerce site i have been looking at is called Highwire which seems pretty decent with the Facebook and eBay integration. I would also use my own domain.

The photographer i will have to definitely look into as with online shops that is all they buyer has in terms of what the product looks like.

Thanks

Why not come and try a stand at our Doggy Day Out, in Wickersley on 21st July?? Cost £25 for the day, which will go towards our charity for this year, Hounds for Heroes.
