New computer with s cable connection point

can anyone tell me please if you can purchase a new computer with the s cable connection point. i need this connection point to connect a computer to a tv thank you for your help

Do you mean an s-video port, a small round port, similar to an old-style mouse/keyboard port?

You might be better upgrading to HDMI cables, if possible.

Isn't S connector just for video signal and you would need 2 x phono connectors for your audio. Seems a bit out of date.

 

Just a thought.

thank u for your replies i use an s cable on my computer to connect to a n old type portable tv the other end of the s cable connects to a s cable wire converting to a phono connection which plugs into the tv i use this for karaoke sound being fed seperately this system suits me fine so i wanted to know if you can buy a new computer with an s port for a s cable connection . is that clear as mud my excuse im an old codger . thanks.

Your new computer will have a HDMI socket, and you can buy HDMI to S-Video converters at around £20.00, though the sound will still have to be fed seperatly. don't know if this helps

Sorry no "S" connectors phased out on new computers mid 2005 in favour of HDMI And later Display ports.

Not tried this myself but you probably want to go somewhere like maplins or maybe a specialist computer shop (NOT PC WORLD) and get some sort of gizmo / port convertor

 

or amazon sell VGA to S-Video / RCA Adaptor

 

although its probably a bit outmoded, particularly as you only have 70 days until the digital switch over when most video recorders etc will become obselete
